Delta Team Three member Heath “Woof” Davis has spent years
in the military. When he is assigned to
protect a member of the State Department it is just another assignment until he
finds out it is Eleanor Duncan a woman from his past. She was his everything until they broke up
and he joined the military. Eleanor has
spent her time since High School working her way up the chain in the State
Department. She’s sent in to negotiate
with a man who has taken some doctors and nurses hostage. She is determined to not fall for her high
school sweetheart again but with a high stress situation all bets are off.
I enjoyed this story a lot.
I am not always a fan of “fan-fiction” of authors I love but this book did
Susan Stoker’s series justice. We first
met Team Three in one of her books and it is interesting to see them get their
own story. The pacing in the story was
spot on. There weren’t any parts of the
story that felt like it was moving too slow or too fast. It was a really good story and I am hopeful
the rest of the books will be just as good.
