Mission: Her Shield by Anna Hackett

Mission: Her Shield (Team 52 Book 7) by [Anna Hackett]

4.5 Stars

Dr. Natalie Blackwell, Team 52’s archeologists, goes missing from a conference in Europe.  Her hope is her team will come to the rescue before it’s too late.

Axel Diaz, former Delta Force soldier, has been down in the muck fighting for years.  He’s wanted Natalie but doesn’t feel him with his dirty hands deserves her.  This all changes when she’s kidnapped by an unknown entity.

I loved these two together.  They balance each other out.  Natalie doesn’t allow Axel to tell her what to do or to keep her safe when her knowledge is needed to solve the mystery.  The pacing in the book was good.  It didn’t lag at any point.  There also wasn’t a point in the story I wanted to move on already.  My only big complaint was the “I need to be with you”…”no we can’t be together”.  The back and forth this took irritated me but not enough to put the book down.
