Five First Dates by Erin McCarthy

Five First Dates : A Brother's Best Friend Romantic Comedy Standalone by [Erin McCarthy ]

2 Stars

Single mom Savannah has horrible taste in men so she asks her friends to set her up with who they think would be perfect for her.  Her brother’s best friend Maddox moves in with her to help with her son Sully and wants her.  To get her he offers to set her up with someone just like her four friends.  The more time they spend together the more Savannah doesn’t see Maddox as her brother’s best friend but as someone she wants in her and her son’s life.

I struggled so much with finishing this book.  It wasn’t pacing or anything wrong with the writing I just didn’t like the characters. Savannah was whiny and Maddox was a pushover.  Instead of being honest with Savannah, Maddox just remained silent and took whatever she dished out.  Even the secondary characters weren’t lovable.  I hated Savannah’s friends.  They were just obnoxious. When no one is good who are you supposed to root for in a romance novel? Absolutely no one.
