Nick Belanger has been in love with his single mother neighbor for years.  He didn’t think he could act on it because he’s an immortal guardian.  Kayla Dorman has wanted her neighbor for years but between raising her daughter and being burned by her ex-husband she isn’t sure she wants to cross that bridge.  When she nearly dies in a car accident Nick must tell her the truth and trust her to keep his secret and maybe love him back. 

I loved this story.  Both Nick and Kayla were awesome characters.  The relationship between them was so cute to see develop.  I also loved seeing her reaction to all the secrets Nick had to reveal to her.  The only thing I felt was missing was her daughter’s reaction.  The pacing in the story spot on.  I also liked the fact that it was a different bad guy from the last 9 books which was a nice change.  Don’t feel you need to have read all the other books to read this one.  The bits that transferred from other books into this one were explained in short order.  However, there will be spoilers if you go back and reread the series.  Which you should because it is an awesome series to read.  Can’t wait for the next book.
