Mia Caravaggio is used to being used as a pawn by her
family. They’ve been using her for years and who she marries is not going to be
any different. She works in her family’s antique shop and her magic is used by
her family as they wish. They’ve not been as powerful since they gave up their
spell book several generations ago to prevent more bloodshed. She deals with it
until she meets Jace Andoni and Smoke, dragons without a clan. Jace is trying
to prove himself to his clan but when he meets Mia, he wants her and wants to
share her with his other love Smoke. The problem, he doesn’t actually ask them
what they want and that causes a rift. Will they find away back to each other?
I wanted to like this more, but they all frustrated me.
There was no world building or build up to a relationship. They meet and are
all in until Jace fucks up. They are then separated for eleven months and then
finally make up, all is resolved, and the book ends. It was just kind of a
letdown.
