Claimed by the Cyborg by Grace Goodwin

3 Star

Prillon warrior Thomar Arcas and his second Varin barely escaped from the colony with their lives. Their mate collar has been fused with their spines and they have decided never to take a mate as their outlook on living is not good. However, it's too late as their mate has already been selected and is on her way. Danika was in prison and opted for the bride program to help her brother. She is all in no matter what and doesn't understand why they aren't. When she does connect with them she starts hearing voices and the voices will lead them to the colony. They don't want her at risk but she will get them to the location where they are breeding kidnapped women. Will they find away to save each other and the women?

I've read all of Goodwin's books and this one is not one that I liked. It felt very unfinished to me and I didn't particularly like any of the characters. The biggest issue was the plot point about the modification killing them and it going even faster with Danika they never fix the problem. During a conversation with someone else she noted they talked about a dampener Prillon's cousin had might save them. Ok but it was never written and I missed that comment. It's a romance and the likelihood of them killing off the main characters is slim but I would have liked to see the resolution. This will probably be one I skip in the reread.
