2.5 Star
When the Yatur came to earth they promised to bring medical
and scientific advancement in exchange Earth had to send women. These women
would be married off to men other planets that had low women birthrate. Mia was
selected to go to a distant planet and marry someone she didn’t know. She had
no choice in the matter. Her chosen mate was Ramliel Takeria. He knew she was
going to be his mate from a small age, but he didn’t want her. When they are
supposed to meet for the first time, he’s a no show. Will they find a way to be
happy?
I struggled with this one. I really didn’t like Ramliel. He
was a complete ass through most of the book until he saw what Mia looked like.
Then he was all in with the marriage. He had a mistress the entire time they
were married which is a huge no for me. The other big HELL no was the almost
instantaneous forgiveness Mia gives to Ram after he left her for his mistress.
I will say the mistress claimed to be pregnant with his child and he wanted to
be in the child’s life, but he literally takes her word for it. This woman was
going to be thrown out her very nice digs because Ram was done with her but
yeah, she’s totally pregnant with your baby. Then he’s shocked Mia isn’t happy
to except him back into her heart and home. Mia does end up forgiving him very
quickly like days later all because he sent her diary entries saying he’s so
sorry. Blah
