Just the Tip by Helena Hunting and L.J. Shen

Just the Tip

3 Stars

Reggie is in Paris searching for her father.  He left when she was a small child for legal reasons and never came back.  She lies to her family and says she studying in Paris but instead takes a cafĂ© job to support herself while she searches.  One day a man comes in and she is smitten.  The problem he is there for not one but two dates and then he stiffs her on a tip.  Horace was told today would be the day he met his match.  What he wasn’t expecting was it to be his waitress.

Really cute short story.  It was insta love which I have issues believing but the story was still cute and they did have a long engagement so it balances out.  I would love to have more stories with more world building and to see where these two end up.  It was a light easy romance to listen too.

Narrator Review:

I am biased.  I absolutely adore Stella Bloom.  She does an amazing job with the voices for each character and accents.

Jason Clark did a really good job too.  I tend not to be a huge fan of male narrators speaking for a woman because of the octave they speak in.  This one didn’t bother me.  You could also tell when he changed characters.  He also did the different accents well.
