How to Dance an Undead Waltz by Hailey Edwards

How to Dance an Undead Waltz (The Beginner's Guide to Necromancy Book 4) by [Hailey Edwards]

4 Stars

Grier is trying to get over her ex’s engagement.  She doesn’t have much time to grieve for what could have been when vampires are taking pot shots at her with bow and arrow.  The best way to protect herself is to reveal what she can do to the magical community.  With everything that is coming at her makes Grier realize why Linus has so many faces to protect himself.

This is the fourth story in the series, and they are not stand-alone books.  You do need to read them in order to understand what is going on in the plot.  What I like so far about this series is the consistency in it.  The author doesn’t try to make it anything it isn’t or to throw something out of left field.  She has a well-built world with character development in each of the stories.  The characters learn new things and progress from what they were to something else.  Hailey Edwards is also really good at throwing a heart wrenching betrayal in her books.  They make sense to the story and aren’t just for shock value.  These betrayals help Grier learn who she is and lets her know she can overcome it.  In this book I loved the relationship between Grier and her new friends.  In the last three books she was relying on her past friendships to get by and in this book you see her grow into more adult friendships.  I also loved seeing her with Linus.  His backstory is slowly being revealed and it makes me want to hug him.  Can’t wait to see where this series is going.
