2.5 Star
Teagan has always done whatever she can to make her father
happy. Now that one brother is in prison and the family had to downsize. Now
she’s trying to find herself. When her dad drops on her that his girlfriend is
moving in, she decides to visit her brother to have some time to think and
decide what she wants out of her life. When she arrives at Pearl Lake she walks
in on Aaron working on her apartment. She’s not sure about him and his
reputation. The more time they spend together the more they want each other.
When secrets are revealed will they be able to weather the storm?
If this book had stayed with the first half of the book it
would have been a solid 4. It was a very cute book that made a drastic turn at
the halfway mark and did a 180 and went very dark and was completely out of
left field. The characters personality changed and made them both very
unlikeable and I struggled with finishing the book. Teagan ends up being “addicted” to her meds
but the way that it was handled was wrong and I struggled with liking Aaron.
Overall, not one of Helena Hunting’s better book and I will probably skip it in
the future.
