Lies within Dark Secrets – L.A. Miller – 1*
The author had an interesting plot but didn't
convey it well. She jumped between characters and retold the story from each
person. I don't need to be told the same story over and over.
One of the minor details that bothered me was about Riley's tattoo. She explains to Christian how and when she got it and she was a minor but the tattoo guy knew what it meant to her and disregarded the LAW and gave it to her anyways. No tattoo that wanted to stay in business would ever do this.
Overall she could have edited out about half the book still conveyed what she needed to and had a much better story. I looked at the next two books in the series. Book two has the same description as book one and book three has turned the series into a supernatural story. I have no problem with the supernatural but you cannot just throw it in the mix particularly as the third book in a series.
