Things are finally looking up for me and my fated mates. Both are amazing with me. I am finally learning about who I am and my magic but there’s something not quite right. There is too much not answered and too many enemies unrevealed. Will they be able to keep everyone safe?

There is nothing to this book other than Rafe and Jianyu hooking up with Ember. There isn’t much movement on the plot at all. They are still in Jianyu kingdom and she is learning some of the things she can do but that’s about it. My take away from the book is literally how many times can she get sexed up with the guys and break up fights between them. This frustrates me because the idea behind the book is a good plot it is bogged down and there has to be movement in the story. Here’s hoping the next one is better.

Abigail Morningstar is the daughter of the Devil. She is expected to take over for dad when he’s ready to retire. She feels out of place in her hell schools as a half angel. She is given an opportunity to live with her mother for three years and be enrolled at Angelic Academy. Things are still not easy at the new school as a half demon but when she discovers her mates will things get better?

Solid read. The guys ticked me off and made me want to make them crawl across broken glass to get her forgiveness. Abby’s mom was the worst of everyone. Loved Abby and two of the guys right off the bat. The world building is also pretty good. Interesting to see where this book is going.

Mafia University is where all the heirs are educated on all things dark and violent. Alliances and enemies are made in blood. As the sole female heir, Caterina, has to keep everyone at an arm’s length and can only rely on her enforcer and best friend. When things go down with her father who can she rely on and trust and who is out to take her down?

I am not a fan of mafia books at all. The reality of mafia life doesn’t usually translate into a romance book for me. This book worked for me. I loved the darkness and the violence in it. It didn’t shy away from the things about mafia life I don’t like but took those head on. I loved seeing the struggle Caterina had with who to trust. I have several guesses as to things that were alluded to and can’t wait to see how it all plays out. Why I have to wait until April is probably the only thing that is ticking me off right now.

Valentine’s Heart by Merri Bright

All She needs to do is punch her V card before she goes into heat. The doctors think a nice beta will help me before I take an alpha’s knot on. My sisters find me someone at the club but all I want is the one person who is off limits. My alpha bodyguard is everything I want and can’t have. When he rescues me from the beta and pushes me into heat will I get my HEA?

Pretty solid book. The biggest issue I had was the ending. It felt rushed. Like the relationship building was going nicely and then an issue popped up with Donovan from something that happened when he was a teenager and he hadn’t really worked through it. This meant he wasn’t comfortable with having a true relationship with knotting with Valentine. I don’t know if it was page count or what but the author shoved it off. Got Valentine through her heat and then talked about it in the epilogue. It was fine but it felt like a cop out with how traumatizing this situation was to him. Overall it was a good addition to the series but it was definitely a short story.

Cupids Last Arrow by Raven Vale

Deedra has been in love with her best friend for years, but he has her firmly in the friend category. When she nearly dies on a photo shoot she is given the choice of becoming the next cupid or dying. Since she doesn’t want to die she opts to become a cupid which is stupid since she hasn’t found her forever love. Now she just has to learn to trust Eros and take on his power plus figure out how to fall in love.

I loved this story. It worked for me. It is probably one of the better reads to do before Valentine’s Day. I loved the back and forth between Eros and Deedra. I so want future books to have Deedra finding the other Gods their HEA because they deserve to have some chaos in their lives for all they put Deedra and Eros through. This one felt like a complete story with one love interest, and I am all for it. I would love to know what happened to Carl since he falls into the dick category for me who needs to repent for his role in Deedra’s life.  Definitely pick this one up and read it.

She was married to the Marquess of Leighton and everything was going to be set that is until she found out the marriage license hadn’t been worth anything and the Marquess’ father through her out. Pregnant and alone she did what any woman in her position was to do found a position in a household to earn money to send to her sister to take care of her baby. After seven years of struggling she takes a new position in her husband’s household. He doesn’t remember her at all but he does lust after her. When he finds out the truth will they find a way to be together?

I have never been so angry with a character as I was with Gabriel. He is the one who forgot his wife, Claire but she’s to blame for keeping their son from him. He did everything she feared and couldn’t understand why she kept the son a secret. He turns everyone against her and then all is forgiven. Like she’s about to leave the estate without her child because even the son is siding with daddy dearest. Most of the help has left because of his antics and not wanting to work with her. It was bad and he eventually realizes what he’s done and sort of makes it up to her and she forgave him to readily for everything he put her through. If you are looking for a historical romance with a lot of drama this is the book for you.

Prickly Romance by Nia Arthurs

Ryotaro is a music legend that is forcing me to help him and his daughter. If I don’t I may not be able to graduate from college if I don’t help. The more time I spend with them the more I want to spend with them. When an allegation is made against me that would hurt his business will he stand up for me?

This was a straight romance book between two musically gifted people. Nothing big or special but a solid read. I was so angry with Ryotaro antics through most of the book. He uses his wealth and influence to get what he wants and when she needs him the most, he abandons Dejonae and leaves her to stress about her future. He eventually figures it all out and makes it up to her. I wish she had held out a little longer before forgiving him because of how he was but I still enjoyed the read.
