The conclusion we needed. I loved how Shira’s mates
are willing to change to nor lose her. They are completely different mates from
books one. Such a good conclusion.
Book 2 Deadly Dragons Duet

That's not what this gold dragon needs. This gold
dragon needs blood. This gold dragon needs revenge.
I loved the premise of this book. Shira has had a
crappy life because of dragons and she wants revenge. Her mates rescue her just
to keep her locked up … for her own good. She finds a way out to get her
revenge in the best way possible. I loved how she does it. It does end on the
cliff but book 2 is already out. I do want more world building but still loved
it.
Book 1 Deadly Dragons Duet

With discovering a new mate there are new challenges
we need to address. I must keep everyone safe and secure but who is our enemies
and how do I find them?
This book actually has a plot and some movement in
the story. I liked it way better than I did book 3 and felt I got some more answers
but left some more for future books. I don’t know when they will be released
but I am invested enough that I want to see how this is going to play out
though there were some very heavy hints in this one that indicates where things
are going to go. Definitely wait until all books are out to read.
Book 4 Queen of Dragons

Things are finally looking up for me and my fated
mates. Both are amazing with me. I am finally learning about who I am and my
magic but there’s something not quite right. There is too much not answered and
too many enemies unrevealed. Will they be able to keep everyone safe?
There is nothing to this book other than Rafe and
Jianyu hooking up with Ember. There isn’t much movement on the plot at all.
They are still in Jianyu kingdom and she is learning some of the things she can
do but that’s about it. My take away from the book is literally how many times
can she get sexed up with the guys and break up fights between them. This
frustrates me because the idea behind the book is a good plot it is bogged down
and there has to be movement in the story. Here’s hoping the next one is
better.
Book 3 Queen of Dragons

Abandoned in the air kingdom by her parents, Ember
is just surviving. Bullied by all, secret lover to crowned prince Storm, she
thinks life can’t get any worse. That is until the secret relationship is revealed,
and he rejects her. Thrown from the only home, she knows she is on the run to
find a haven to live. Will she find what she’s looking for or will things get
more complicated for her?
I loved this story so far and can’t wait for the next
book. It does end on a cliffhanger, but it looks like the next book is due out next
month. Fingers crossed it does come out then. I loved Ember. She took the hits
coming towards her and kept going. The way Storm handled everything made me so
mad and he better make it up to her in the next book. The ending was what made
me maddest. Ember was just starting to figure things out and found two more
mates. Then it just ended. So mad. Must find out how this plays out right now
and not later. If you like dragons, rejected mates, enemies to lovers, with
bits of steam you should check this out.

her mother forces her to join the other candidates to become a dragon rider. She’s
smaller than all the other candidates and has been dealing with a lifelong disability.
Everyone thinks she won’t last long as she is too fragile. Even if she lasts
long enough, they don’t think a dragon will bond with her as there are always
more people than dragons. If the tasks and dragons don’t kill her then the
other candidates will just, to get revenge against her mother. Xaden is the
most powerful wing leader and has sworn to take her out. That is until the dragons
make their decision. Will she survive?
This book had so much hype behind it I didn’t think
it would stand up. I had never read a book by Rebecca Yarrows and wasn’t
willing to buy the hard cover book at that price, so I waited for the library.
I ended up being one of the first to get the book. I blew through the dang
thing so fast and wanted the spray painted one, so I went out and bought it. It’s
somewhere between 4 and 5. It’s borderline I want to reread it already. I loved
that Violet is disabled and shows what it looks like when someone has been
dealing with long term issues. It’s a different way to view disability but for
those who have been living with issues for a long time will relate to this so
much. I loved that the Violet grows so much in this book. She is willing to
grow and change to stay alive but not everything about her changes. The big one
is her character stays the same. There are several twists and turns in the book
that kept me reading. The one character that dies was just heartbreaking and made
me so mad. There are a lot of deaths in the book but there is just one that was
just so nooooo! The ending of the book was a WTF moment and was sort of a
cliffhanger ending but not a true cliffhanger. It wraps up the main plots in this
book but ends with some new questions. I can’t wait for the next book to come
out in November.
Book 1 The Empyrean

Melody has started her new coven and she’s trying to
build allies with the council and covens all while taking on her aunt. Her aunt
is determined to take down the current power and take over the world to form
her ideal world. This would destroy everything Melody holds dear and she will
do anything she can to fix it so her aunt is no longer a worry. Will Melody and
her men succeed?
This one was so long. It felt like it should have
been two books, but I am not complaining as everything major was wrapped up. I
loved this series and this book wrapped up the story nicely. There are some
plot points left unanswered, but she has a new series coming out in November
that will hopefully answer some of them. Melody and her men get their happy
ending. I am curious to see if they show up in the next book. Overall, the
series was worth the read and you should check it out.
Book 5 Of Magic and Contempt

Melody’s new coven demands she finds a witch mate
and start popping out babies to help the coven. She hates losing control of
herself and refuses. She has to figure out what is the correct route she needs
to take so she has control of herself without burning any bridges as she needs
allies to take on her aunt. Will she be able to win over some covens and the council
for the help or will her and her mates be left on their own?
I liked seeing Melody call people out on the bull
shit in this book. There is prejudice everywhere and she’s not willing to put
up with it anymore. This book continues Melody’s growth and changes. She comes
into her own more in this book. She accepts her mates and the direction her
life is taking her. There are some big battles and confrontations in this book
with some introduction to new characters that seem vital to the story. Can’t
wait for the last book to see how things work out.
Book 4 Of Magic and Contempt

Melody is trying to graduate early as Adolphus is
not safe. There’s a new admin who has allowed all out war on Melody. She needs
to find a way to protect those she loves, and they all need to figure out who
is going to help her and those working with her aunt.
Melody keeps fighting for those she loves. She keeps
growing and learning in this book. There was even more drama in this book from
her fellow classmates. Some of the solutions she and the men come up with are
interesting and it does progress the story. I really want some of the people harassing
her to get their comeuppance. There are more men introduced to her that it
looks like she’s going to end up with. Still ends on a cliff. Can’t wait to see
what they all come up with to take out all the bad guys.
Book 3 Of Magic and Contempt

Adolphus isn’t the safe space Melody hoped it would
be. There is petty bullying going on and Melody just wants to survive. They are
still working on a good way to get her out from under numerous geas. When they
find the way to get safe will they be able to handle the consequences?
I love that the guys are willing to wait for Melody to
be ready to mate with her. They are pushed to claim her but know she needs them
to wait. Everything with Carla is just weird and it will be interesting to see
how that plays out. Overall, it was a good addition to the series and I can’t
wait to see what happens next.
Of Magic and Contempt book 2
Melody is the strongest witch in several
generations. She’s bound to her Aunt Georgia. She’s forced to bond with
shifters for her pack. When she finally hits her majority and needs to go off
to Adolphus Academy where she’s been ordered to go after the Apex, Dean, Ryan,
Oz, Nick, and Justin for the rest of the coven. She would do anything to
prevent this from happening but when she’s not given an option will she find a
way to keep everyone safe?
Jade Thorn has been on my TBR for a while and I was
looking for something to read and settled on this book. Boy, was I glad to pick
this one up. I blew through the book, and it was so good. It hit so many feelings
for me. It’s on the darker side and Melody was the right mix of sweet and
strong. I love that the guys figure out some of what is going on and start
working with her. It ends on a slight cliffhanger ending but is minor and the
next book is available.
