Dangerous Heat by Olivia Lewin

4 Stars

Trapped and taunted with a deadly heat barrelling toward me, I’m separated from the only men I’ve ever trusted.

Handing myself over to the enemy didn’t go as planned.

My captor isn’t the cruel man I thought he was. Shan is lost in the past, insistent on dealing with his trauma alone. Caspian is fighting against his nature, putting us all at risk. Ozzy is growing distant and restless, but is silenced by his curse. Emmett is battling to keep everyone together.

As past actions threaten to tear apart our tentative trust, one question hangs over my head…

Am I safer staying put, or trying to escape?

All I know for certain is for this heat, it’ll be far too dangerous alone.

Loved where this book went with Freya. It’s interesting to see the growth and changes that happen with the characters. There are twists and turns in it that made me so happy. This book is more a book about relationship development than the story moving forward but it was still worth the read. It still ends on a cliffhanger.

Frayed Trust by Olivia Lewin

4 Stars

I’m a hidden Omega with murderous impulses…

Can you blame me? With my designation it’s kill or be killed, or worse. Just ask my sister.

After the Sanctuary thrust her into the arms of a monster, I swore I’d never follow in her footsteps. Not when I revealed five years ago, and not now. I’d make it alone. No Sanctuary. No Alphas. No plan.

I didn’t really think it through.

Even if I don’t need an Alpha to take care of me, my body does. And I’m running out of time to find one of my choice. With my heats getting closer to lethal every month and a vampire kingpin who knows my identity, my only hopes are the mysterious strangers investigating my long string of murders.

Shan, the bland angel with a penchant for the rules (and making me follow them, even when he doesn't). Caspian, an incubus-fae hybrid who’s equal parts sensual and vulnerable. Em, the team’s muscle who’s inexplicably absent from the investigation.

Add in my sassy, cursed feline familiar and we have ourselves a party. And the best heat of my life, if I can bring myself to trust them with my secrets. But can I repair my frayed trust before it’s too late?

I loved this book and Freya was just awesome. The guys were also really good. I loved the snark, and the backbone Freya has. She’s determined to never be forced like her sister and take out people who are just bad. The guys you know she’s going to end up with are investigating the murders she’s responsible for and chaos ensues. Can’t wait for book 2.

Going Down Smooth by Dreia Wells

3 Stars

I’m an Alpha trapped in an Omegas body.
I never wanted to be anyone’s mated anything. I wanted to be in control of my destiny, not held down by the shackles of my biology. My father, unfortunately, had other plans. I was supposed to fall in line like my sisters, but I ran. The night of my mating ceremony I rejected my four Alphas and got as far away as I could. I gave up everything and walked away from my family and never looked back.
But even in death my father still wouldn’t let me be free. The day of his funeral I’m given an ultimatum. He offers me a chance to run the family business but under one condition. To accept the mates I left behind and reclaim what’s rightfully mine. Or I lose it all forever
Nothing’s ever easy in the Smooth family but I will find a way to get what I want.
I just hope my body doesn’t decide to betray me in the process.
Along with my heart.

This was an interesting take on omegas. I did struggle with the pacing in the book plus the guys. Mercy deserved better from everyone in the book. She just wanted to be her own person and everyone around her wanted her to fit the mold and stay in her box. The guys should have supported her but pushed and it led to problems. They didn’t have her back and it is hard to want them to get their HEA. The book does end with a cliffhanger ending and you will need to read book 2 to get the full story as nothing is resolved in this book.

Choosing Their Omega by Sadie Moss

3 Stars

Working as a live-in nanny for four hot hockey star Alphas? That’s got to be every Beta’s dream.

Except… it’s not quite that simple.

After losing my job and my apartment in the same day, I feel like I’ve hit rock bottom. But when Cruz Ashford, captain of the Titans NHL team, finds out I have nowhere to live, he makes me an offer that could help us both:

Move in with him and his three pack mates and work as a nanny for the adorable little boy they’ve adopted.

As crazy as it sounds, I say yes. It’s a chance to turn my life around after the loss of my grandmother left me buried in a mountain of medical debt, so there’s no way I can turn him down.

The only problem is, living with four gorgeous Alphas is harder than I thought it would be. Almost from the first moment I arrive at their house, the tension between us is off the charts.

I don’t know why I’m so drawn to Cruz, Knox, Lawson, and Miles. Why I can barely control my body around them. Why their delicious scents affect me so much… or why I seem to affect them too.

Until the day I start perfuming, and I finally realize the truth that’s been staring me in the face.

I’ve been wrong my whole life. I’m not a Beta. I’m an Omega.

And everything is about to change.

It was fine but repetitive at times. It was sweet and low stakes for the most part. Lily was a bit too sweet at times. The main drama happened too late in the book and wrapped up to quickly in my mind. If you’re looking for a quick and spicy read give this one a chance.

Raider’s Treasure by Leann Ryans

2 Stars

Lyric's quiet life was shattered when a raid on her village left her father and the alpha he’d promised her to dead. The warrior who caught her wants her for himself, but he destroyed everything she’d ever known, so how could she give in to her omega nature?

The raider intended to take her whether she was willing or not, but he offered the other omegas a choice if she cooperated. She’d never had the option to choose her mate, but could she forgive Raider for what he'd done and learn to trust him so the others could have the choice she'd been denied?

This book felt very unfinished. Your dropped into a story with zero world building or character development. You get 0 connection between FMC and MMC. This leads to me thinking it’s a meh read.

Knot Your Past by Jarica James

2 Stars

I swore off mates years ago, yet they have me reconsidering...

After being rejected by a chosen mate and losing everything, I vowed I would never let anyone make me feel that way again.

Since then I’ve enjoyed the single life. My weekends were full of random hook ups and enough booze to forget how lonely I am.

Until someone starts following me.

I quickly find that not only did my ex hire someone to tail me, it was his brothers and childhood friend.

And all three of them are my mates.

In a day that seems hellbent on tearing my world apart I find that the Sulley Pack has come to town. It takes one meeting to realize that fate wasn’t done with me yet.

Now two packs want to claim me as theirs. They’re all far too caring and understanding for a jaded omega like me. At least that’s what I’m telling myself.

Can I put my past aside and give these men a chance?

There was way too many partners with this book. I struggled to track who was who. None of them were developed at all. It also felt like the story was unfinished. Just overall, a miss for me.

Knot That Likely by Sierra Cassidy

3 Stars

It was his first time as a heat helper without supervision. And also his last.

Erik is bright-eyed and confident in his abilities to get Cindy through her heat. He’s done all the training, learned all her preferences, and even knows how to make her favorite foods. He just forgets one important thing…

Cindy is a cynical, mature omega who’s sworn off relationships. Heat helpers have always gotten her through her heats, and she assumes this time with Erik will be no exception. He’s hot, happy to do what she likes, and his charming smile makes her a little weak in the knees.

All it takes is one mistake to upend their lives forever.

Short and spicy read. Cute story but no development of characters or the world. Sometimes all you need is the short and spicy and for me this book was good.

Knot Wanted by Jillian West

4 Stars

Shanna Fitzpatrick grew up with rock stars. She's seen enough to know she doesn't want to date one—let alone three—from two rival bands, no less. The bossy, much older security specialist who comes with one of those rock stars might be a different story, but she's still hurting a little too badly from past mistakes to find out.

After all, a group of unscrupulous men courted her specifically trying to gain access to her family connections.

But with another heat on the horizon, she knows she can't put off moving on any longer. Who better to fill her heat with than rock stars? They're perfect for no-strings attached fun. Until the kind of men she always told herself she'd never fall for end up being exactly what she's been missing.

When the past comes back to haunt Shanna can they come together as a pack? Or will old wounds to be too much for them to overcome?

I loved this one and seeing everyone getting their HEA. Shanna gets screwed over but makes out even better because of this. I loved all the personalities of the guys that brought to her life. It flows nicely and has some sweet but also super-hot scenes. Definitely worth the read.

Knot Again by Lucy Scott Bryan

2.5 Stars

Growing up, all I wanted was a family. Now all I need is a pack.

Being the heir of the Verdune family legacy is a blessing. The responsibility that comes with it, not so much. Add in the fact I’m an Omega, and some days I wish I was born into a different life.

Meeting my scent-matched Alpha, should be a night of celebration but instead it becomes an event marred by tragedy and a stark reminder of how controlling Alphas can be.

I’m told to find a pack. Or they’ll find one for me.

A pack of delicious smelling Alphas swoop in to save me. Okay, they actually win me at an auction but either way they insist we’re fated to be together. They promise we'll be living our own sweet fairytale.

The thing about fairytales… they’re usually stories of false hope, crushed dreams, and ruined happily-ever-afters. Complete BS really.

But those Alphas are real life princes, and they believe in whimsical destiny and everlasting happiness. They’re also ruthless, borderline obsessed and won’t take no for an answer.

I’m just not sure I can trust them. Knot again.

The idea was there but I had issues with FMC and the flow of the book. I’ve read other books by this author and loved them but this one just fell flat for me. If you like omegaverse there are better ones to read.

Heat and Deceit by Rory Miles

4 Stars

Everything I am is a lie.

To the world, I’m Carmine the beta barista, not Nova the omega who’s being hunted by her old pack.

I live my life by one rule: Blend in and be forgotten.

Then I meet my three rich bosses. For some reason they take an interest in me and it’s impossible to avoid them since we work together.

To make matters worse, they’re searching for the perfect omega to protect and cherish.

They’re everything I could ever wish for. Just as I’m finally letting my guard down, my old pack comes sniffing around and threatens to destroy everything I’ve built with these men.

When they find out I’m not who they think I am, will they still protect me or will they give me back to the pack who destroyed me?

So so happy to see Nova get her HEA and her forever pack. She is in a previous book, but you don’t need to read it to read this one. She has growth and change to get to her HEA. Loved the alphas with how much they wanted her, even as a beta and knowing she has secrets. Worth reading this one.

Knot and Cold by RK Pierce

2 Stars

One omega's biggest mistake is about to become a Christmas miracle.

A fresh start in a new city is exactly what Danity finds when she moves several hours from home, but what she doesn't count on is the colder weather...or the freak snowstorm that leaves her stranded in the middle of town.

Forced to take shelter in a tattoo shop, Danity finds herself trapped with three sexy alphas and one gorgeous, intriguing omega. It's not ideal, but with nowhere else to go, she has to grin and bear the imperfect circumstances.

Will they all survive being snowed in together? Or will the heat between them leave them burned?

I knew this was a short story going into it but I still feel you need a complete story and this didn’t feel like it. It needed to be fleshed out more than it was. It felt like the book ended just as it was getting started. If this continues into one of the other honeyverse books than it needs to clearly say that. Overall, there are better omegaverse books out there that are full stories that I love and this isn’t one I will remember in a couple of months.

Surprise Mother Pucker by Melissa Huxley

4 Stars

He was a one-night stand, and I’m their pregnant omega… again!?
It wasn’t meant to be anything more than a wild night. A little drinking. A little romp. Not a baby and an alpha baby daddy I can’t find, despite my best efforts.
A year and a half later, I’m a single mother out on the dating scene, falling for another alpha—Eli—and hoping his pack welcomes me when the time comes. If they are anything like him, willing to accept me and all my baggage, I may be one lucky omega.
But it turns out our meeting was anything but luck…
One surprise leads to another, and there he is, in all his glory—baby daddy number one, the man I never thought I’d see again. He’s unprepared for what I had waiting for him, causing my anxiety to build by the second.
I had so little time in my happy bubble with Eli, where the perfect life was taking form in more ways than one. And now, it could all fall into shambles… or maybe these alphas are ready to shock me once again.

I loved this book so much. Eli and most of the other guys in the pack are amazing. Kennedy was the right balance of sweet and strong. My biggest gripe was with Storm not really seeking redemption for ghosting her and giving her his pack mates name. The other problem was the drama outside the pack was rushed. She’s suspended from school and bam resolved. I wanted a little bit more with this because it was so detrimental to Kennedy and her family but it felt glossed over. Still loved the book and can’t wait for another one.

Packed in the Penalty Box by Melissa Huxley

4 Stars

Molly always pictured herself as a one alpha kind of omega.

University life suited her: books and quiet evenings with her bunny were just fine, if a bit boring. Packs were messy, and she just needed to finish school, settle down with a nice alpha, and live her comfortably-ever-after.

That had been the plan, before her best friend dragged her to a chaotic hockey game and threw a wrench in everything.

When action on the ice takes an unexpected turn, #58 - Grayson Wood - comes crashing through the boards—and right through Molly’s dreams of a quiet life.

Banned from the American NHL for solving one too many problems with his fists, the bad-boy alpha holds a dangerous appeal that Molly is powerless to resist.

That is until Grayson’s ex-teammate arrives with a revelation that might just put their dreams on ice. There’s more to Molly’s new boyfriend than meets the eye: he’s not a lone alpha at all. Now her roster might be bigger than she bargained for.

Can Grayson make the save, or is it game over for their budding relationship?

I adored this book. They had such a cute meet up. I loved how Molly connected with Grayson throughout. The groveling his pack had to do to win Molly over was so good to read. Overall, if you like hockey and omegaverse this is a really good read.

When She Needs Them by Jillian West

4 Stars

Chelsea never expected that she would have to move at nearly nine months pregnant. Then again, she never imagined she’d lose her daughter’s father while she was busy baking their baby, either. Heartbroken and distraught over being harassed by a disgruntled family member, she packs up and moves across Virginia with no assistance.
Arden, Lincoln, and Kase run the Blacksburg office of Shadow Security. Their instincts won’t allow them to ignore their heavily pregnant new neighbor. After all, protecting people is how they’ve made their living. Well, that and the off-the-books contracts no one will ever know about, but this mission calls for a different kind of finesse.
With her due date only weeks away and still reeling from the loss of her daughter’s father, will Chelsea be able to let her walls down long enough to let anyone in? Or will danger catch up before her neighbors can convince her they won’t let her down?

This was a super cute read. I enjoyed how all in Arden, Lincoln, and Kase were with Chelsea. They just wanted to take care of her and make sure she and the baby were ok. The big bad was meh but the rest of the story was so good. I can’t wait for the guys’ bosses story because whatever it is, it’s going to be good.

Knot Their First Rodeo by AJ Shirley

2 Stars

Genesis. Genesis Valentine knows exactly what she wants out of life. As a decorated journalist, she is determined to tell stories that matter, and to make a difference in the world. Unfortunately, as an unbonded omega, she’s considered a liability in the field. If she wants to take her career to the next level, she has to show her editor that she can get her scent under control. And that means taking on a pack, at least temporarily.

At almost thirty, Genesis should’ve been bonded years ago, but she refuses to be a slave to societal expectations or even biological needs. She has no interest in being owned by a bunch of alphaholes who would try to control her life and interfere with her plans. So, when she’s matched with a temporary pack of widowed alphas who have no intention of mating again, Genesis knows she’s found the perfect solution to all her problems. However, when she meets the handsome pack of silver foxes, Genesis quickly realizes she might’ve gotten more than she bargained for.

Orlando. Orlando Rossi has built a perfect life. His business is wildly successful, and his packmates’ artistic and farming ventures are equally impressive. They have a beautiful home and more money than they can spend. Perfect.

Except for the gaping hole where their omega used to be. In the decade since her death, Orlando has done everything he can to get Pack Rossi back on their feet. They’ve come so far, but he knows something is still missing.

When they take on a smart, feisty temporary omega who smells like heaven, Orlando knows immediately that everything is about to change. Unfortunately, both Genesis and Orlando’s packmates are stubborn, strong-willed, and set in their ways. Is it too late to find love again, or will Genesis be the fresh start they didn’t know they needed?

It was a good idea but all of the characters irritated me. The FMC was too young for the MMCs. Age gaps are not normally a problem but she was a very young acting character while they were very old acting characters. They had lived a full life while she was just starting. It also didn’t feel like they had worked through their trauma. All of this led to it being a miss for me.

I never thought it was in a remote cabin that I’d meet fate...

And it’s in a remote village that I meet Theo, Noah and Wylder. They know more about me than I know myself and when heat hits me like a wall of bricks I have them to help me through.

I thought I was no one, but to these three-mountain man I am everything.

Now my time here is running out and I’m wondering if I finally found my place in the world.

This was a short and sweet book. It left me wanting more background and character development. I loved the writing style and the overarching story but just wanted more.

Donation Clinic (Breeding Clinic) by Alexis B Osbourne

3 Stars

My biology only wants me to give into this strange alpha because I’m carrying his baby.

Kat wants a baby and has wanted one for years. As an older omega with no pack to call her own anymore, she turns to a fertility clinic for help on the path to motherhood. The constant appointments, the blood tests, and the pills will all be worth it when she can finally hold her little bundle of joy. The one she had to give up trying for all those years ago.

The problem? Her hot scent matched alpha donor wants to be more than anonymous and he’s already got a pack. Kat’s not sure that she can risk rejection again.

Liam and his two mates have always wanted a big family but they lack a breeding partner, and never found their scent match.

The opportunity the fertility clinic offers is one they can’t pass up. But when Liam immediately puts his foot in his mouth, he sends their pregnant omega running.

For the first time in forever, he aches to chase her. He can’t possibly let her go. And his pack doesn’t want to either. All three of them will make her see how perfect their pack is for her.

Can they mend the scars on Kat’s heart and neck and settle into domestic bliss before she runs away for good?

This one has updated the name to Donation Clinic. Same book I read under Breeding Clinic but the algorithm gods don’t suppress it.

I enjoy the story but not as much as other books in the series. I struggled with the goof up the clinic made and how they were just like sucks to be you, your going to have to work it out. I did love the pack and that they were all in with her. It was the perfect storm for them to get their HEA. Hit with the rest of the series and everyone was nice to learn about.

Cammie Cooper became an alpha-chaser by accident.

After a one-night stand that ends in two pink lines, Cammie thinks she’s found her happily ever after. She forgets all about scent matches, fated mates, and the truth about being a beta from the town of Crawley. That is, until her alpha drops her when he finds his scent match.

Cammie finds herself back home and out of options. She’s got two kids, two jobs, and more bills than she can keep up with.

Her neighbor Reid comes to the rescue after a run-in with the wrong side of the law, vowing to protect Cammie and her kids. But she can't trust another alpha, no matter how much he promises. When she meets his bonded omega, it confirms her suspicions. What could the pair want from her but a good time?

Can Reid and Finn convince Cammie they mean to claim her and her kids? Is it possible for them to blend their lives and find love after so much heartache?

LOVED Cammie so much. She is a beta living in an omega world. She doesn’t change either which I loved so much. She stayed who she was and still found her HEA with Reid and Finn. I loved that they stepped up for her kids when her ex abandons them for his scent match. It was just a very nice and sweet omegaverse book.

Queen of Clubs by Alisha Williams

4 Stars

My whole life, there was never a place I called my home.

Because home wasn’t a place to me, it was a person. Three people to be exact. Everett, Griffin and Zane. Three boys who always protected me against the harsh reality of our world. That is, until they aged out of the system before me.

All the promises that were made were then broken. They left me behind and made a name for themselves as rock stars and never looking back.

The next few years left me broken and closed off until it was my turn to leave. I had nothing and nowhere to go. That was until I found High Roller omegas.

For years, I’ve worked there, found a new home within the walls of the building itself and the girls that worked there.

I was doing fine, happy enough. Until one night, the three people I never thought I’d see again come in for a little bit of fun. All alphas now.

They’re shocked to see me, to find out the omega I’ve become.

Now that I’m back in their life, they won’t let me go and somehow manage to convince me to go on tour with them.

And I’m about to find out just how not perfect their life is because life isn’t meant to be sex, drugs and rock N roll.

I think this is my favorite one of the four books. I loved the second chance romance. The guys worked to win her back. It played out so nicely and the adding of the 4th member made perfect sense. How it all played out worked so well even if I had it all figured out.

Most omegas dream of a happily ever after; I just want to survive.

I’m on the run from a cruel alpha—leader of the gang I was traded to. For years he kept me like a trophy, and each heat left me with scars—ones that mark the last secret I have left to protect.

Now, he’s found me, and my sanctuary—the High Roller club—is no longer safe. Just when I know I’m going to be dragged back to my worst nightmare, I stumble upon a pack I never thought I’d see again. A pack that’s haunted every dream since the day I met them. Kyan, Zed, and Knight are brutal boys of the streets, and they’re my mates, so falling into their arms for protection should be easy. But long dead are the days of stolen kisses and names scratched into notebooks amidst hearts.

Because they hate me.

When they got to their knees and offered me the world, I turned my back on them. I left them broken, rejected, and exiled from the only family they’d ever known.

Placing myself at their feet is my last hope of survival, but I can never let them see the scars their enemy left across my skin.

The guys didn’t deserve her at all. She let herself be tortured for them and they were dicks to her through most of this book. I did like how some of them opted to make it up to her. I also can get behind how the bad guy got taken out.
