Alex is pulled into another investigation but this one is
much more sinister. She is accused of using
her magic to create ghouls all over Necros.
Briar Darque comes in weapons blazing with her accusation but when Alex proves
her wrong, they team up together. There
is a deadline looming and they need to find the creator to save someone close
to Alex.
It was interesting to see how the people in Alex’s life dealt
with her life changes and secret keeping.
She deserves better than her friends gave her, but I liked seeing her
puzzle out the best ways to deal with everything being thrown at her. The character development in this book was
really good too. You got to see growth in
each character. The one big issue I had
was how Death was handled. He’s just
kind of disappeared from her life in this book.
You can see where the author is leading Alex for her love life in this
book and I am interested in seeing how that will work out for her. Overall, a good addition to the series.
