King of the Asheville Coven by T.S. Joyce

5 Star

Aric Teague, King of the local coven, has had to rehome his whole coven to get away from the Harper’s family.  New job equals growing pains of dealing with new employees not happy to have a vampire on staff.  At a call out for a car accident he rescues Sadey before the car plunges off the cliff.  She is a closet shifter on the run and doesn’t want anyone knowing she’s there.  Aric helps wipe the humans’ memory so they don’t know they saw her.  Will he be able to get past his fears to have a happy ending and keep her safe?

This was a short story spinoff from Harper’s Mountain.  You don’t need to have read the other series to read this one.  There is some mention of that series but nothing that took away from this book.  I enjoyed seeing Aric do good since he was kind of a dick in the other series.  I really liked seeing him care about someone else like he did for Sadey.  It is an insta love story since it is a short story.  Even though it was a short story it didn’t feel like a short story.  It was well written and I didn’t feel it was lacking anything.  Can’t wait for the next book.
