Omega’s Obsession by Sarah Blue

3 Star

Liv DeSoto has been in love with her brother’s best friend forever. It only got worse when she perfumed as an omega and him an alpha. The problem he’s not interested in her. She finds out he and his trial pack joined Heat Haven she figures this is the ideal time to try to get her forever with him, River, and Grayson. She steals their clothes for her nest and everyone but Dean is happy about her stalking habits. Now she just needs Dean to get on board and her father to back off.

This was a good book. As you read it you can understand why Dean tried to stay away from Liv. You feel a lot of empathy for her as her Father is crazy. You want to deck her brother for not protecting her. Liv has so much more strength than a lot of characters. Everyone gets what they deserve in the end but it’s heartbreaking what Liv has to go through to get her HEA.

I think Knot by Sinclair Kelly

2 Stars

Bexley Carter has her own dreams and goals. These goals don’t include finding her pack. She wants nothing to do with alphas. This led to her creating the PackChat App which shows all the things wrong with packs and created her rival RideAnAlpha. When her friend encourages her to attend an influencer conference where she will be a keynote speaker with the pack from RideAnAlpha. What she wasn’t expecting was finding a scent match to her nemeses. Will she accept them or walk away from them.

This book frustrated me. There was too much going on. On one hand you have the rivalry, and the guys are trying to win her over. On the other hand you have a stalker who wants her and will have her. Either of these would have made for a good story but with both the book becomes convoluted. You have Bexley working through her feelings for the guys but then you have this stalker who comes in and steals her. Spoiler ish from this point on. They get her back but then leave her at her home because they don’t want to force her. Great she needs time but they make it seem like they don’t want her. When she finally made her way back to them, they knew she was coming but didn’t really greet her in a happy way when she shows up. It just overall left me feeling blah about the book. I liked how Sinclair Kelly writing style so I might give book two a chance to see if it is better.

Hell Fae Captive by Lexi C Foss and J.R. Thorn

3 Stars

Cami’s parents have sold her for their debts. She is a halfling who doesn’t care that her parents sold her, and she is now a slave to hell and required to compete for favor to find mates. She will play along because she has too but she will find a way to burn it all down around Lucifer.

OMG don’t read if you are frustrated by cliffhanger endings…which I am. This was such a well written and interesting story and then it just ended. I was so frustrated. When I read this (way behind on book reviews and this was middle of 2022) this book wasn’t even up for preorder. As of writing the review it is coming out between now and April. The concept is interesting. The writing was good and I liked the characters but the ending was so abrupt and left me wanting.

Tribe Protector by Stacy Jones

Lily thought she had her hands full with her fourth mate Drrak but now there’s a fifth man who needs her. Will her other mates accept him into the fold?

This was supposed to be the last book in the series, but it left me with many questions. There were characters introduced and then ignored. They added a fifth mate into the harem, and you don’t really get time to learn about him when the book ends. The final big battle was incredibly short. Again, this book the author uses her fake language to have conversations. I ended up skipping many pages as I didn’t want to try and figure out what was being said. There is a fourth book that came out later. I am skipping it as I really struggled with finishing this book.

Tribe by Stacy Jones

2 Star

Now that the season has changed it’s time for Lily and her men to head to their tribal lands. They will have to navigate more people being around them and see if they will accept Lily into the clan.

The pace in this book was incredibly slow and it dragged the book down. The book also ended on a cliffhanger. Saving grace all books are out but still worst book model ever. I liked the introduction of the new guy, and he helps balance the other guys out. Several complaints. One Lily became very meek in this book. She refused to say anything to her mates about her shunning from the villagers and when she sees something big happen, she doesn’t say anything. It made me not like her all that much. Another issue is the author uses the made-up language for the tribe. That’s great but you have many conversations in this language in the book it makes the book unreadable. I am not going to go looking for a translation of conversations. Since it ended on a cliff I had to read the next one.

Lily was running her grandmother’s farm when she’s accidentally kidnapped by aliens and dropped on a mystery planet. The planet is a deadly one that will take everything she has to survive. It becomes easier when she is found by Frrar, Tor, and Arruk. They want to keep her safe and take her as their mate. Will they be able to find a way to communicate and survive the deadly planet?

There were a couple issues with this book. One of the big ones for me was the fact that Lily was supposedly a farmer, but she had difficulty with understanding basic farming things like there being an underground water source. The author was also very inconsistent with the communication between all of them. Sometimes Lily or the guys would gesture, and the others would get it and then they would do the same thing again and they wouldn’t understand. The final issue was Lily had to be clean no matter what was going on and it led to problems when they were trying to get to safety. It was very frustrating. On the other hand, it was an interesting concept, and I did enjoy aspects of the book so a 3.
