Never Trust a Hockey Player by Jarica James

4 Stars

They say hockey players always protect their own. But my pack proved that was a lie.

After spending my heat completely alone, resulting in a near death experience and a hospital stay, I knew I had to cut my pack out of my life.

One phone call to my brother and I find myself back in my hometown. The local hockey princess has officially returned. Surrounded by my family's hockey legacy, I fall easily back into that life.

A job with the Westgrave Wardens, my brother’s team, seems like exactly what I need to get back on my feet.

The only issue is that I swore off ever trusting a hockey player again… and five of the men that make up the Westgrave Wardens starting lineup are trying to prove that they deserve a chance.

Everything seems perfect… until the media learns that I walked away from my pack. Gossip quickly turns vicious and the Wardens band around me to shield me from the worst of it.

But when their team comes under fire, I know it’s time to fight.

I’m an omega who survived being forgotten and I won’t let anyone steal my voice again. I tell the truth and watch my exes fall from grace, begging me for forgiveness.

It was an interest take on rejected mate and finding your forever. I loved the hockey team and how they stepped up to help her just because her brother asked. The fact that her original pack do finally come back around and try and apologize was fun to read.

It was a really good read. I will definitely pick up book 2. It was a really good read. I will definitely pick up book 2.

Safe Haven by Jarica James

3 Stars

Who knew that two words could shatter every hope and dream Briar had for her future.

You’re pregnant.

Most omegas dream of this, but the only thing Briar can think about is that awful night. While she suffers alone, her attacker gets to flaunt his perfect life in her face.

Until his assistant finds out her secret.

Now she finds herself being exiled from not only her dream job, but her home and city. The betrayal cuts so much deeper when her family is the one to put the final nail in the coffin that was her life.

Her brother, and only ally left, calls on his best friend. She knows no pack will want her, she’s carrying another alpha’s baby, she’s damaged goods. To her relief, the pack agrees.

But when she tries to get them to drop her off at the omega shelter, they refuse. Instead they offer her a temporary place to stay while she decides what to do next. The problem is that with each passing day she spends with the pack, she gets more attached.

When she agrees to be their date to a charity event, she didn’t expect it to change their lives. Secrets are revealed and when her attacker crosses her path again, she quickly realizes that her happy ending may be ripped away for good.

Will her new pack claim her as their own, or will she be forced to live a life she never wanted?

This was a hard book to read just because Briar got put through the ringer. I loved the pack with her so much. They were so sweet and wanted her to be happy and healthy. They bend over backwards to keep her safe when the laws are against her. Her brother was also awesome who was willing to go to bat for her and keep her safe.

Knot Your Past by Jarica James

2 Stars

I swore off mates years ago, yet they have me reconsidering...

After being rejected by a chosen mate and losing everything, I vowed I would never let anyone make me feel that way again.

Since then I’ve enjoyed the single life. My weekends were full of random hook ups and enough booze to forget how lonely I am.

Until someone starts following me.

I quickly find that not only did my ex hire someone to tail me, it was his brothers and childhood friend.

And all three of them are my mates.

In a day that seems hellbent on tearing my world apart I find that the Sulley Pack has come to town. It takes one meeting to realize that fate wasn’t done with me yet.

Now two packs want to claim me as theirs. They’re all far too caring and understanding for a jaded omega like me. At least that’s what I’m telling myself.

Can I put my past aside and give these men a chance?

There was way too many partners with this book. I struggled to track who was who. None of them were developed at all. It also felt like the story was unfinished. Just overall, a miss for me.

Knot Your Life by Jarica James

3 Stars

I’ve finally found my pack and leaving those who rejected me behind. It was all too good to be true and now those who rejected me are coming to town to stir up trouble. Can my new pack survive the newest issues?

It hasn’t been that long since I read book one and I was getting the guys confused. I don’t know if the names were that similar or the group of guys was just that large but I struggled. After the first book and how it ended, I was a bit disappointed with this one. It felt like the author couldn’t figure out where she was going and was throwing things out there hoping something would stick. Like in book one you hate her parents but in two it’s explained away. Same with some of the other characters. They were horrible but now they’re all good. There were also a couple of things left hanging but otherwise the main plot was concluded nice ish.

Knot Your Fairy tale by Jarica James

3.5 Stars

Ellie spent 3 months filming a reality show to find a chosen pack. She thought she had found her pack when she is rejected on film for another omega who she thought was her friend. They humiliated me and she wants nothing more to do with the tv show but is contractually obligated to do some interviews. She may have to do those interviews, but she doesn’t have to stay in town. She decides to spend some time with her brother in a small town to get away from everything. She was planning on laying low and avoiding everyone when she finds her fated mates. It starts with one mate and then several more. It’s not smooth sailing with them as there is conflict between some of them and she’s not sure if she can help them resolve the issues. When people from the show wind up in town how will they work it out?

This would have been a solid 4 except for the cliffhanger ending. FMC is a bit quiet at times, but she does get better. I liked all the guys she’s going to end up with so far. Though the ending means that might not be the case. I am curious to see how it all plays out in the next book.

Safe Haven by Jarica James

3 Star

Most omegas can’t wait to become pregnant but that is not what I want. I didn’t ask for this man to take something that wasn’t for him but he has all the power and I have none. He then bribes my parents into kicking me out leaving me with very limited options. My brother calls on his friend to take me in until I can figure out what I can and should be doing. Not everyone in the pack is happy to take me in but I promise to be gone as soon as possible but will they want her to leave?

Fair warning the story starts with Briar seeing a doctor after she was raped. It was off page but she has trauma from this SA that is dealt with throughout the book. This was a good take for an omegaverse story and I enjoyed how it all played out. I would love to see another book in this world to see if things change with the center Briar is supposed to use since she is packless. If you like omegaverse stories this is one of the better ones.

Falling for Autumn by Jarica James and Chloe Gunter

4 Star

Autumn thought she would have more time with her grandpa but that isn't the case. She now has to decide what to do with the apple orchard. Does she move home and take care of the orchard or take one of her job offers in the city? To complicate things she's falling for her neighbors. Does she want to walk away from Boone, Hunter, and Jack for the job in the city or stay on the orchard?

I enjoyed this book a lot. It was a light sweet book. No high stakes whatsoever or any kind of drama just an omegaverse romance. I liked Autumn, Boone, Hunter, and Jack. They each have their own personality and they blend well together. I was happy when they found their happy ending. I can't wait for the next one as this one pulled me out of the book slump I was in and I loved the secondary characters as much as I liked the main characters. I want to see how they get their happy ending.
