Anne Moody runs a cursed pawn shop in Las Vegas. She is a dragon sorceress with a lot of
magical power that has been feared throughout history. One day a woman comes into her shop to pawn a
stone statue. The statue is a gargoyle
named Vale. The gargoyle is possessed by
a demon and needs Anne’s help getting it out.
I wanted to like this book. The plot description was very interesting and
it could have been a really good book. I
think the biggest reason it was so bad was because some authors should never
write a short book. They need more words
to build the story and that is fine but when they don’t take the time they make
leaps where there shouldn’t be leaps.
That is what happened here for me.
We go from the gargoyle trying to kill Anne to him transforming into a
man and bam it’s love. It just didn’t
work for me. The chemistry between the
characters wasn’t developed enough to be believable. It could get better with future books but I
am not interested in reading any more booksARC provided by Net Galley
