Ares is one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. If the Four Horsemen’s seal breaks they go
evil. In the last book when Sin spread
the ward disease she broke Pestilence’s seal.
In this book he is trying to break Ares’ seal. Cara is his love interest. She starts the book as a human with a little
ability to heal animals. She is called
out to help a dog hit by a car. The dog
is a Hellhound puppy who is so appreciative he gives her Hell’s Kiss. This ties their life together and thrusts her
into the supernatural world. They meet
when she is given Ares’ seal. He takes
her home to protect her from his brother.
She shouldn’t be able to hold the seal but because of the kiss she can.
I enjoyed this book but it was a little choppy. It is technically the first in a new series
but it really is just a continuation of Ione’s Demonica series. It felt like Ione was sort of starting over
but she had all the world there from the other series. Once it picked up it was a very good book and
I wanted the next book.
