Six months ago, Rowan's life imploded. She lost her sister and then was forced to move across the country. Her dad works out of town and barely comes home, and her mom hates her. She just wants to blend in at school and get it done so she can get out. Her knew classmates see her and realize how special she is, and they take it on to get her happy and healthy. The guys want her to come into her powers. Will those who want to keep them apart win?

This would have been a pretty good story if the characters were a tad older. The majority of them

were under 18 and I found the sex scenes of 17 year olds skeavy. Beyond this big issue there is a

major pacing issue and lack of world building. The beginning of the book is slow and then the end

is so fast paced. Then it ends on a cliffhanger. This is one I would skip it.

Luka is sent in to find out about any secret labs being used for researching the fertility issues his people is having. Instead of finding them and getting out he’s captured and forced to participate in them. Alice is coerced into pleasing Luka until they can escape. When they finally get out Luka still wants Alice but thinks she doesn’t want him and is traumatized but she’s his chosen mate. Will he find a way into her heart?

Where I liked the first book in the series, I hated this one soooo much. Alice was just horrible. She never once stopped to think about the fact that she was on another planet with different rules and behaviors. Maybe just maybe the reason Luka was acting the way he was that offended her so much was the norm on the planet. She kept him waiting and waiting and just made him so miserable because he was trying to please her even if it went against everything he knew. I will still try out the next one but this one will not be revisited ever.

Shaya is rejected by her true mate Nick she leaves her pack for parts unknown. Months laten Nick. finds her and is trying to make it right. Will they both take the time and have patience to find their forever?

I was a bit bored with this book. Partly because I had read the Mercury Pack series already but also because this book was slow. Nick pissed me off as he still wasn't honest with Shaya and then got mad with her for not rusting him. When all the secrets came out, I wanted to head slap Nick for being so stupid. Overall, this one probably leans more towards 3.5 stars but still interesting

Unbound Magic by Alexis Calder

Raven and her men survived the trials but now there is a new enemy that escaped from the Fae Realm. This fae wants something that Raven has, and she has to willingly give it to him. She will need to survive his attacks as well as doing the trials over again as the school board nullified those results.

This is a good conclusion to the series. I was a little irritated by Raven towards the end of this one because she was assuming her men were all going to leave her. Didn’t talk it over with them just assumed. Overall, if you like academy books this is a pretty good one to read and I enjoyed the series.

Number one rule fae have is to not let the humans discover them. Cambria keeps the secret well until she steals from Lucien, Atlas, and Dorian. To get their wallets they discover her secret. To prevent them from being killed she takes responsibility for them. This means living together and staying out of trouble. If only there weren't people out to get her.

I really wanted to like this book. The book dragged on a lot, and I kept putting it down. Then it ends on a cliffhanger. These two issues plus a lack of world building made this book a failure for me. Even though it ends on a cliff I'm not continuing

Raven’s magic has come back, the Time Thief has been destroyed so life should be easier for Raven but they’re not. She now has to prepare for the trials. The school is changing how they are done this year. Instead of attempting them on their own they are now placed in groups. Raven is matched with Ben, Matt, Zach, and Luka. They will have to work together to survive the trials.

There is a huge OMG in this book that I sort of saw coming but it was still interesting to get to it. I loved that things were revealed in this book and still left some questions for the last book. I enjoyed the growth of the relationships between Raven and her men. Overall, it was a good addition to the series, and I enjoyed it but cliffhanger esq ending.

Jamie has been crushing on Dante for years, but she's reached a point where she knows he's not interested. She's hiding a big secret and she can't let anyone know so it's time to move on. Dante is used to the flirting from Jamie and when it stops, he's concerned. When he finds out what her secret is will he be able to help her?

I liked these two. The story flowed nicely, and we didn't need any world building. Her big bad secret was nice but the way the pack reacted was ridiculous. Everyone but her brother, Taryn, and Dante hit my list of shitty friends. I Loved how the book ends. Good addition to the series.
