She doesn’t want to upset her mom thinking she couldn’t know that her dad was still alive. When she runs into her former friend Riggs, she asks him to help. Will she be able to handle the truth?

I enjoyed this one a lot. The person I felt the most for was Riggs. He was put in a position of a no-win situation, and he runs with it. I hated April. I am sure some people will say she was young and was trying to do what was best for Tae, but I just couldn’t get past the lies she told her daughter. I don’t know if Shalvis was planning on people feeling sympathy for April, but I never got there. I felt bad for everyone else in the story and loved the writing.

Half shifter Frankie was surprised to receive an email from someone claiming to be her aunt. She finds out a dark secret her grandparents had kept from her. Her father allegedly killed his mate and then himself. They kept her from his family but her paternal grandma was dying and wanted to see her, Frankie doesn't remember the part of her past, but she's interested in meeting them. Trick is interested in her helping her remember and claiming her. Will she figure out what happened to her parents?

I liked Trick and Frankie but felt like I needed more in the end with those who were responsible for her parents’ death. Plus, her grandparents really Suck and never really make up for it. It fit in with the rest of the series and worked.

Khell was just working his job when he was kidnapped. He is told he will be let go once the coven gets what they need but he doesn’t know if he wants to help them. They don’t care as they will do what they want, and he just needs to deal. Will he get what he wants?

This is straight up erotica. Normally Bell’s books have additional plot with her sex, but this wasn’t the case with this book. Khell is kidnapped and used for sex and that’s it. If that is what you’re looking for it has Bell’s style and writing which is good. There’s just nothing else to it.

Defiance is trying to figure out what it means to be a witch while fending off advances from one neighbor and another trying to sell her house out from under her. She decides she needs to figure out who killed her grandma, teach her BFF how to use her magic, and figure out her relationship with the shapeshifter in the basement.

This series started off so well, but it is very frustrating that the characters act like teenagers. They also seem too miraculously find some new magic to solve the problem in this book. Defiance also frustrated me so much. She had too many too stupid to live moments. I am going to give the series one more chance before I quit.

Audio: 5 star I loved Traci Odom narrating this book. She did a good job giving each character their own voice.

Head Enforcer Tao may have given doesn't want to see her go. When she's invited back to her flock for a surprise party for her uncles, he's not letting her go alone. When people are attacked it brings back the suspicions from before that Riley is involved. Will they figure out who’s been doing the Shooting before it's too late?

I think Riley is my favorite. It was interesting to see them away from the pack and a different kind of shifter. I loved how Riley and Tao were with the kids. The only big issue I had was at the end there was no follow up with the flock.

 Lance is the most eligible bachelor. He’s what everyone wants but he only wants Charlotte. Charlotte figures it he is Mr. Right Now and not her HEA. Will he be able to convince her that he’s all in?

This was way more interesting than the first two. I liked Lance and Charlotte. I did want them to workout. Charlotte’s family really sucked, and they never really get what is coming to them. This one doesn’t make up for the rest of the series being so slow. If I hadn’t paid for them, I would not have read the series.

Anubis has been lost forever. He’s finally been found but still can’t go home as he is still missing apart of himself. He asks Tahirah for help locating his missing piece. She thinks she’s just helping another rich man who knows nothing and is surprised when he’s not. Will they discover Anubis’ missing part?

I loved seeing Anubis and Tahirah’s relationship develop. I very much want Anubis and Tahirah to take her nephew away as her sister never redeems herself. This wasn’t my favorite in the series, but it was good. It fit within the rest of the series. I’m hoping there are more books in the series.
