Pregnant and Rejected by the Lycan King by Kiara Sere and Via Thorn

2 Stars

My fated mate is the alpha king…

And I’m too weak to be his queen.

So he rejects me- but doesn't know I'm pregnant with his pup.

I’ve been a punching bag my entire life.

Bullied by my pack, sneered at by my family…all because my wolf refuses to show herself.

So when all unmated females are invited to the alpha prince’s ball so he can find a mate, I’m dreading it.

My sister trips me in front of everyone, and I’m ready to be the laughingstock of the ball.

Instead, the prince catches me.

And our mating bond snaps into place.

His fierce protectiveness takes over and he turns his rage on my bullies:

“Apologize to your future queen, or I will toss you out in the cold after breaking the pack bonds to make you a rogue.”

The heat of our connection and the way I feel when he looks at me…it’s like nothing I’ve ever felt.

But then he realizes I’m a weak omega who’s never even shifted.

He doesn’t want me anymore, but it’s too late—he’s already marked me.

I resign myself to being ignored by my suddenly icy, distant mate for the rest of my life.

But then I find out I’m pregnant.

So I run.

Once I’m gone, will he realize how much he needs me?

Or will I spend the rest of my life brokenhearted and mateless, raising our baby by myself?

The book was so slow and took forever to get to the HEA. I also never got past Talen’s rejection of Elena. This is one I wish I skipped.

Roommate Mistake by Pippa Grant

4 Stars

An injured rugby star, his pregnant roommate, and one rule they can’t break: Don’t date the owner’s daughter.

It was supposed to be an easy house- and dog-sitting gig while the owner was gone for a month. But when my sportsing landlord comes home unexpectedly, injured and in need of a new arrangement, we end up as accidental roommates instead.

But if Holt Webster, the tall, thick-muscled, square-jawed, broody-eyed rugby player, had told me he played for the Copper Valley Pounders, I would’ve told him that my stepdad bought the team while I was working cruise ships overseas.

And he would’ve noped out of offering me a place to stay because the only thing worse than looking like you’re flirting with the owner’s daughter is looking like you’re hooking up with the owner’s pregnant daughter.

Yes, yes, I’m that woman—the one who accidentally got knocked up, decided to keep the baby, and had to move home because pregnancy and cruise ships aren’t a good match.

And now I’m that woman who doesn’t just look like she’s hooking up with an off-limits player. I actually am hooking up with an off-limits player. But who can blame me? He’s hot. He’s kind. And he’s spending our nights sleeping with his hand on my baby bump.

Claiming us both.

But if my dad finds out, Holt’s gone. And we’ll be…rucked.

I really enjoyed this one. There wasn’t a lot of drama in this one just some personal issues they are both trying to work through. Ziggy’s stepdad just pisses me off through most of this book. He treats her like she is a child and threatens Holt’s livelihood if he doesn’t leave her. The stepdad doesn’t listen to anything Ziggy says and that continues with Ziggy’s mom. She just pushes and pushes no matter what her adult children say or do. I loved all the guys on the team coming together to make sure Ziggy and Holt had the back up they needed.

Team Players by Stephanie Brothers

2 Stars

I’ve always been told I’m a team player…now my eleven foster brothers want to put me to the test.

When I inherit a home from my long-estranged father, it’s a dream come true. Pregnant and alone at nineteen, it’s just the break I need.

Except, when I get the keys, I find out the house comes with a whole lot more than I bargained for…eleven huge football-playing foster brothers who are about to become my housemates.

They’re the team my father devoted his life to training. If they can just stay fit, they’ll be going pro before they know it. Gorgeous and ripped, they fill the house with their massive bodies and booming laughs. I think they must be players, both on and off the field, and I hate them for stealing my father’s love.

But first impressions can sometimes be very wrong.

They treat me like I’m a queen and look at me with eyes that tell me they want to fill me with their own version of team spirit. I can’t imagine why one sane man would want a knocked-up cheerleader with so much baggage, let alone eleven. But the longer we spend together, the more I fall for my foster brother dream team.

They want to stay together to make a home filled with love for me and my child. Eleven men want to be my second chance. Except people like me don’t deserve second chances, and if they can’t see that, I’m going to have to make them.

Two stars is generous with this book. The writing was amateurish. There is no flow in the book. The chapters are choppy. Plot wise there are so many questions left unanswered. Like why did dad not connect with his daughter at any point. It was very unbelievable. If you are looking for a poorly written sex story, try this one but there are better books out there.

Dear Grumpy Boss by Julia Wolf

4 Stars

I’ve spent the better part of the last few years successfully avoiding my brother’s best friend, Weston Aldrich.

As CEO of Andes Inc, the infuriatingly handsome and incessantly grumpy Weston also happens to be my new boss.

It shouldn’t have been hard to continue avoiding him. After all, he’s on the executive floor and I’m one of many copywriters.

Weston has his own ideas about how things should go between us. He’s in my emails, leaving notes on my desk, and as if that’s not enough, he arranges for me to accompany him on a business trip.

That leads to stolen touches, frenzied kisses, and the undeniable need to work each other out of our systems. That always works, right?

Except now that I know what it feels like to have Weston Aldrich appreciate every inch of my abundant curves, avoiding him is impossible.

But he’s my brother’s best friend.

And a workaholic.

We have to stop.

And we will.

Soon.

Just…not yet.

Loved this book. The snarky covertness from Elise to Weston made me laugh throughout the book. I loved how Weston was all in with Elise and her daughter almost immediately. The story flowed nicely and made me want to go and read the other books by the author. My biggest complaint was the Elise was a bit of a doormat with her baby daddy and it did get frustrating.

Make My Heart Race by Grace McGinty

4 Star

Tally Palmer had always wanted to drive fast and kick ass, in that order. She’d earned her place as a NASCAR driver. She followed the rules, paid her dues, and didn’t make any mistakes.

Except one. She fell in love with a boy.

In the blink of an eye, Tally’s dreams went up in smoke. The fallout from that moment reverberated through her life but eventually her name was forgotten and the next ‘big thing’ took her place.

Six months later, Tally was in trouble again, but this time, the consequences would last forever, or at least eighteen years. She needed a nest egg ASAP and she was only good at one thing: driving recklessly fast.

At a late-night illegal street race, her life would once again change. Running into an old crush was unexpected, and the lifeline that he threw her even more so. A lifeline that would once again put her in touching distance of her dreams. Sure, it would be different, and would come with three extremely sexy distractions, but there was hope.

But the past never stays where it belongs, and soon enough it’s more than just her dreams of driving that are under threat.

This is a motorsports romance, including F1 and IndyCar. Our pregnant FMC has more than one love interest and doesn't have to choose in the end.

I loved this story. The Tally is pregnant through most of this book. She is just trying to survive when she finds her men. There is some tragedy but it just reads like a feel good story. Loved FMC for being strong and I loved the MMCs with their different personalities. Definitely worth reading.

PS You’re Intolerable by Julia Wolf

5 Stars

My boss, Elliot Levy is intolerable, and I tell him so everyday…in the little notes I write and then hide in the back of my desk.

I can’t exactly say to his face that I’m convinced he’s a cyborg, considering I'm about to become a single mother and I really need to keep my job as his assistant.

Elliot never looks at me, so he doesn’t even notice I’m pregnant until I’m seven months along. The first thing he asks is if I’m planning to come back to work once I have the baby.

Not unexpected.

What is unexpected is Elliot coming to my rescue when I need a place to stay after my daughter is born. While living with him, I get to see a whole other side of him…especially when he walks around his house without a shirt on.

Which he does, ALL. THE. TIME.

I shouldn’t look, but I can’t help it. He’s gorgeous in a suit, but out of one? Devastating.

Elliot shows me he isn’t the heartless robot I once thought. It’s still terrifying to take a chance on him, even when he holds my baby like she’s precious to him, and he touches me like he’s been longing to for ages.

Now that he has me, he isn’t letting me go without a fight.

And Elliot Levy didn’t get where he is in business without learning a few underhanded tricks. What will he do to keep me? To keep us?

P.S. I think I’m falling for you.

This was a surprise read for me. I find this on Instagram and sometimes those books aren’t good but this hit all the marks for me. I loved the main characters. The notes FMC made every day before she would go and talk with MMC were hilarious. When he found them and got a kick out of them I laughed so hard. It was such a cute thing for her to do. The pacing was great and I loved the world building in this book. I loved how MMC was with FMC and her baby Joey. I will definitely be picking more books up by this author.

Ready or Not by Jillian West

3.5 Stars

Vale Reed finally found a pack of trustworthy men to build a life with, but chaos threatens to upend the safety she thought she'd found.

Time is ticking away on her pregnancy, and everything feels out of control with Andrew still on the loose. Not to mention Mercer’s family is in town, and with his inheritance hanging in the balance, they can't stay hidden on the compound forever.

Vale’s pack rallies around her, dead set on keeping her and the baby safe, but bad guys are more dangerous than good men.

After all, they don't have lines they won't cross.

This was a bit of a let down from book one but was still good. Vale forgave the guys way too fast and it irritates me. I wanted more with the ring the guys were going after. I also felt like Vale was so stupid during the fight scene. It also could have been one story instead of two. Still good but could have been better.

Not Ready by Jillian West

4 Stars

Vale Reed is doing the best she can.

After a one-night stand gone wrong, she's pregnant and completely on her own. Cam shows and working full-time serving drinks helps stash away money for when she gives birth, but they also put her in the line of sight of a creep who wants her for his own. When he takes things too far, Vale has no choice but to run.

Luckily, she ends up with the one person she really trusts.

Bishop and his packmates, Holt and Mercer, run Assurance Private Security. They're up for the task of keeping the very pregnant omega safe. She's even able to repay their kindness when Mercer needs a fake wife to claim his inheritance.

But Vale’s stalker isn't giving up without a fight, and it turns out he's more connected than any of them could have guessed.

Will they be able to keep Vale safe? Is there really a chance for love to bloom under such dire circumstances?

Just when it gets really good it ends. I know I say it a lot but this a different omegaverse. Normally omegas are pampered and spoiled but Vale is barely surviving. I love how she meets the guys and works her way into their lives. They are all in to help her but don’t want it to be forever…at least to begin with. The twisty bit at the end was amazing and made me so mad that I wanted the next part immediately but had to wait.
