There’s a belief among the patients at Havenfield
that broken omegas end up with broken packs. After all, no alpha wants a
traumatized omega as a mate….that is, unless they’re refused at a “proper”
institution. Then they settle for us. But I’m not looking to settle. At
twenty-eight years old, I’m happy to live out the rest of my days without an
alpha telling me what to do. Even if that means I won’t live much longer—omegas
my age simply don’t survive very long without a pack to tend to them. But I’m
okay with that. I’ll die clinging to the last memories of the love of my life,
and whatever is left of my pride. But my doctors have other plans. Forced to
live with a pack I don’t know to nurse their sick omega back to health, I’ve
decided I’m done doing as I'm told. Eager submission was never my strong suit.
I wanted more of a connection between the pack and
Violet. It never gelt like they truly wanted her for her. It always felt like
they needed her for Brin, and it was all about Brin. They never really
addressed her history and just expected her to do what they wanted. I did enjoy
the read and I loved Violet. I just wished for some additional info in the
story. If you’ve enjoyed other stories by Kitt Lynn, you will like this one.
