Worse Guy by Ruby Dixon

3 Stars

A vicious and amoral clone of Crulden is being held in prison to see if he can be rehabilitated. Bee is a social worker who is trying to do good when she is called in to tame him. Will she be able too?

This was a cute quick read. I liked Bee and Crulden. He’s a bit of a dick but there is a reason for it. Bee is trying to be a social worker for human woman but has to prove she can by rehabbing Crulden. They have a lot of steamy bits but not a lot of plot based story. If you are looking for a sexy story then this is a good one to read.

Bound to the Battle God by Ruby Dixon

3 Star

Faith is living her life in Chicago when she is pulled from her life into another world. In this new world she is expected to help the Battle God Aron combine is souls into one and take his place with the other gods. Will she be able to help him and get home to her life or will she be stuck in this new world?

I felt the book could have been shorter as it felt like it dragged on a bit. The book is 656 pages and it felt longer. I liked the overall story. Aron grows and changes throughout the story and it was interesting to see. Faith was also interesting, but it took me time to not being frustrated with her. I understand she is thrust into this world but come on. You can’t do what you would do in your old life.

King’s Spinster Bride by Ruby Dixon

3 Star

Princess Halla of Yshrem watched her kingdom fall but saved the barbarian boy’s life. Her life was spared, and she was forgotten for 16 years. Now 16 years later she lives her life in solitude. The barbarian boy is now 24 and King of the Cyclopae. Mathior is told to kill the last remaining member of the royal family to calm the citizens of Yshrem instead he decides to follow his heart and marry her.

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. There is a lot of spice and the characters are easy to like but I wanted more world building. I really liked that she was older than Mathior. I liked they were so enthralled with each other. It was worth the read.
