Nevermore Bookstore by Cynthia St. Aubin and Kerrigan Byrne

Cady inherited a bookshop from her aunt. She needs to find proof her aunt owned it to be able to keep it. When her shop is broken into the mystery man she’s been speaking to on the phone, Fox, decides enough is enough and he will do whatever he can to protect her. She can never know it’s him as he is too screwed up to be with him.

I wanted to like this more than I did. It was a slow burn romance which was fine. However, I never really connected with Cady and Fox. There’s no world building. I felt like we were just dumped into this story, and nothing is really explained. The bad guys were obvious, and they aren't really punished in any way. It just was an ok read for me.

Recently divorced Hanna Harvey needs a job to feed her and her three cats.  She bluffs her way into a job at an art gallery with a drool worthy owner Mark Abernathy.  Everything has finally turned around for Hannah until her boss’ girlfriends start dying.

I really liked this story.  It has a hint of romance but more a cozy mystery to it than romance.  It was a different take on shape shifters which when you read a lot of them it’s nice to see something new.  I liked the author’s writing style.  The only big issue I had was with the pacing in the story was a little bit off for me.  It plotted along nicely until the end when it felt like we rushed through the conclusion.  It wasn’t a turn off per say as I want to see what the next book looks like.
