I enjoyed the first two books in this series and there are still 3 more left and this book is making me take a break as it frustrated me so much. When Frankie was introduced in book one, I looked forward to her getting her book and I ended up hating this pair. I hated that Grant kept apologizing to Frankie. She would misconstrue something but he would end up apologizing. It got old real quick. The evil villains were also kind of badly portrayed. They were incredibly stupid but still able to cause problems. Going to take a break and see if that will make me fall back in love with the series.

Cady has been taking care of the Lycan family for years. She's built walls around herself to keep though she loves safe and secure. She has a secret that could tear her life apart and she will do anything to keep those you love safe. She knew that Beta Nick was not for her even if she wants him. Nick has stayed far away from Cady as he knows she's human and he can't have her.  When their family is put in danger and they are forced together to work in close quarters will they be able to ignore the attraction?

The only reason why this book is getting a 4 star is because of Cady.  She was an amazing character and she deserved better from her love interest than what she got. She kicks butt and saves herself you're South where a lot of female characters would have let herself be rescued. Meanwhile Nick was an ass and he ends up throwing her under the bus even though it puts her at risk because he is so mad over some secret, she kept that she didn't know she technically was keeping it. The biggest issue I had with their love story was the fact that she literally goes back to him and forgives him for him being an ass there's no there's no discussion she's just like oh yeah everything's fine I love you I love you and it's like he literally said some of the most heinous things to you in the world and you are going to just forgive him OK.

Alynna Chase never knew werewolves existed until working a job as a private investigator she runs into a werewolf shifter.  She discovers that her dad didn't abandon her as a child but was a faded mate to her to her mother and on the day of her birth he died in a car accident with no one the wiser to who she was. With this discovery she finds out she has a half-brother and a world of shifters who have rules and hierarchy that she will have to learn to live with. As she takes her place in Lycan society she will find that some of the rules chafe the most including one that revolves around Alex a bodyguard who works for her brother. He is off limits as he is not good enough for her personality rules it rules however when her life is in danger will he be able to stay away?

 This one actually surprised me a lot. I enjoyed the give and take between Alynna and Alex. She has to find her footing in this new society and finding out that she has a brother and that she technically shouldn't be with the guy she's in love with but finding out that they’re fated mates makes it a little bit better. Was thoroughly amused by the brother in this story because he goes all in with having this little sister who must be protected even though she is well capable of taking care of herself and can’t stand the idea of her actually having a sex life.  The only thing that I really didn't like about this story was out Alex I felt that he was so wishy wash it and just irritated the crap out of me. One-minute he’s all in with her and then the next he’s ignoring her and going out on a date with someone else and he doesn't understand why she gets so upset and wants nothing to do with him at several points in the story and it's like dude you're literally on a date with someone else what did you expect. They end up working it out and he does make it up to her at the end, but it took a while, and it was very frustrating to get to that point. Overall, it was a really good start to a new series, and I would definitely check this series out.
