Bold by Hope E Davis

4 Stars

Deep in Sidhe, a fantasy world hidden within Ireland, Sierra and Aodhan find themselves separated, facing different challenging situations that could cost them everything…

Sierra

Sierra’s life has been upended and changed in ways she could never have imagined. But will her newfound confidence and belief in herself be enough to help her escape the clutches of evil and bring much-needed government change to Sidhe?

Aodhan

Captured by the last person he expected to become his enemy, Aodhan is faced with a choice: stay in prison and wonder what became of Sierra and his friends, or make a deal with the devil himself, which could change his life forever.

Finally the conclusion of Sierra and Aodhan story. It was interesting to see it play out. I liked some of the threads started in book one were tied up nicely. There are still some that needs to be tied up but there is a third book coming out in 2025. It will be interesting to see how everything concludes. I liked how things played out between Sierra and Aodhan. I am still upset about a character death that happened but it made sense. Doesn’t mean I have to like it. I am curious about how Sierra’s family is doing since they aren’t mentioned at all. Can’t wait for the next one.

Sleigh Me If You Can by Cheryl Terra

3.5 Stars

Nellie has three good reasons for why falling in love with her best friend’s brother is not a Christmas miracle:

She never wanted to fall in love in the first place

She especially didn’t want to fall in love with him

It didn’t happen at Christmas

Because sure, after months of trying to convince themselves that they weren’t perfect for each other, JP and Nellie finally gave in to their feelings, but that happened barely a month before the holidays began.

Which is why Nellie absolutely refuses to bring her new boyfriend home to her mother’s house for Christmas.

Faced with the pressure to make up for her decision by finding JP the perfect Christmas gift, Nellie starts to wonder if the unsolicited opinions that come from being in a new relationship are worth it. But when JP is roped into bringing his Big Nick Energy to the office Christmas party, will Nellie step in and don her elf apparel so they can jingle all the way through a wild evening of spreading Christmas cheer to his quirky coworkers?

Short and spicy read. I felt like I was missing something event though this one said you didn’t need to read any of the other books to read this one. It probably should be read after the other books in the series. I do intend to read the other books as I did like the writing and the rating may come up with reading the previous books. Loved the characters and how spicy it was.

Knotted Laces by Elise Faber

4 Stars

I fell for the woman who’s in love with my brother.

As a professional hockey player, there’s no shortage of women who want me.

Just…not the woman I want.

Because she’s in love with my older brother.

Until a freak summer rainstorm means that we’re stuck together. In the mountains. With the road washed out and only one hotel room to share between us.

And suddenly, all of her focus is on me.

Suddenly, I’m in the most important game of my life—

Trying to win Attie’s heart.

I loved these two. The struggle Attie had excepting Cam was into her and would work as a relationship was fun to read. I never understood where the part that Attie was in love with Cam’s brother. She never indicated she wanted him. If it was in another book I don’t remember it. I still think they were so cute together and it just works.

Sugar Daddy Arrangement by Mimi Francis

2 Stars

Daphne Barnes is struggling to keep from drowning in debt. Desperate to build a better future for her young daughter and herself, Daphne registers on a website for people willing to pay for companionship. Before she knows it, her inbox is flooded with offers. But only one man catches her eye.

Zander Ashford is a wealthy and successful architect with time and money to burn. He doesn’t want the complications a relationship would bring to his life, but he desires a beautiful young woman to show off to the world. Curiosity leads him to Sweet Connections, a website for sugar daddies looking for someone to spoil. When he finds Daphne, he knows he has to have her.

The chemistry between Zander and Daphne is electrifying, but they are torn between the expectations of the people in their lives and their growing infatuation with each other. They soon discover that sometimes forbidden love is the one worth fighting for.

Daphne and Zander work well together but the book didn’t work for me. Some of the things about custody didn’t make sense to me. Which led me to question the plot. I get why the author chose to have the conflict for Daphne but you need to pick something that makes sense. The idea of the book was interesting, but it needed some work to flesh out the story.

Puck and Make Up by Elise Faber

3.5 Stars

My life is full of secrets.

She's the woman who's discovered them all...

Dessie and I have a love-hate relationship.

But it’s mostly that I love and she hates.

As a member of the Rush hockey team, I don’t have a problem finding women who are willing to date me, but Dessie isn’t just anyone.

She’s a mystery, an obsession, a woman I need to claim as my own.

Only, she’s not going without a fight.

Good thing I’m a hockey player…

And fighting is what I do best.

I loved seeing Dessie and Fox get their HEA. At the end of the last book I had so many questions and several of them were answered in this book but I still have so many more. This one was a quick read and it was nice to revisit the characters.

Brewing Up Christmas by Emily Campbell

3 Stars

Eli, Bayshore’s charming bartender and notorious ladies’ man, has always shrugged off the holiday spirit. But when a mysterious woman strolls into his brewery, everything changes. What starts as a whirlwind night of passion quickly transforms into something far more magical when Eli finds himself at the center of a Christmas mission he never asked for.

Angelina isn’t just passing through—she’s Santa’s Chief Spirit Officer, tasked with restoring the town’s dwindling Christmas cheer. And now, she’s enlisted Eli to help her. With pointed ears and a magical Christmas spirit meter tracking his every move, Eli must decorate, spread joy, and reluctantly embrace the season if he ever wants to return to his old self.

As they deck the halls of Bayshore, sparks fly between Eli and Angelina, blending holiday cheer with undeniable attraction. But with each magical encounter, Eli finds himself questioning whether getting back to normal is really what he wants—or if Angelina has given him something far better than any gift under the tree.

The description said sparks fly between Eli and Angelina, but I didn’t see it. I never felt a connection between them. Overall, it was a meh book about Christmas spirit. It was a short story and might have been better if it was longer as there could have been better development of the story and the characters.

Icebreaker by Elise Faber and Kat Mizera

4 Stars

She hates me…

I’m going to make her fall in love with me anyway.

As captain of the SoCal Vipers, the last couple of seasons haven’t been going well. My stats are slipping, and I’m at risk of being traded.

So, I’m not in the mood for a case of mistaken identity with the woman playing bouncer at the arena door.

But when I find out she’s come to town to escape her controlling family and make a fresh start, I know I can’t just let her walk away.

I’ll do anything to make sure she’s safe.

And if that means claiming her forever…then all the better.

Because she’s mine.

Even if she doesn’t know it yet.

Two of my favorite hockey romance writers wrote an amazing story. Loved Aspen and Banks. Seeing Aspen grinding to succeed and prove her family wrong made for a lovely read. Banks needed to grovel a little bit more after his mess up but I still love him. Would love to see the rest of the friend group and the little sister get a story.

There are so many twists and turns in this book to get to Aodhan and Sierra’s HEA. Fair warning there are some character arcs that will be upsetting. I am still mad about the one and want to change the outcome. This is less romance and more fantasy as Sierra and Aodhan spend most of the book apart. I am curious if Sierra ever goes back to the human world and visits her family but that is a personal want. Overall, a really good conclusion of the duet and I will definitely be picking up book 3.

Demure by Hope E Davis

4 Stars

Recent college graduate Sierra Lopez has no idea what she wants to do with her life. With a degree that’s useless on its own, Sierra decides to complete a one-year master’s program at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. Alone in a new city, Sierra downloads Tinder, expecting to go on a few casual dates during her study of human aging and fragility.

But then she meets the mysterious and brooding Aodhan De Thuaidh, who doesn’t seem to be at home in Dublin either. When he’s 30 minutes late for their first date, however, Sierra writes him off as just another jerk, intending never to see him again.

Except Aodhan keeps showing up. First around campus, then at a bar, and during Sierra’s work hours at the campus library. He claims it’s just a chance they keep running into each other, which annoys Sierra to no end, but something about Aodhan just isn’t adding up…

I really enjoyed this one but didn’t realize it was a cliffhanger ending. I was so mad when I got to the end and it just ended. Can’t wait for book 2 which will be out shortly. FMC and MMC work well together once FMC was willing to let MMC in. FMC handles his secret really well and probably better than I would have. I loved the give and take between them throughout the story. I can’t wait for them to get their HEA.

Who Invited the Demon to Tea by Marilu Moser

4 Stars

When I inherited my uncle’s old house, I expected the chipped paint, dust bunnies, (sort of) and a sprinkle of nostalgia. It was the sweet escape from a parent’s house every thirty-something year old woman needs. What I didn’t expect was the charming, pleasant, and tea loving force that would turn my world upside down.

The force in question came after reading a seemingly whimsically innocent nursery rhyme I found from a book long forgotten from childhood. A demon, who I unknowingly helped jailbreak.

What else was I supposed to do when faced with a handsome demon, but invite him to tea? I didn’t anticipate the fast friendship that blossomed between us. When the demon asked for my help to break his contractual obligation, I couldn’t resist. Except I didn’t realize agreeing to be his fake girlfriend would blur the lines of pretend and reality.

His freedom is on the line … but so is my heart.

Loved this book. It was sweet how Mendax fell for Davina. The book made me want all the tea bar one and you will know it when you read it. I’ve tried something that sounded like that and just … nope. The overall story was sweet and an easy read. I want more in this world and with the characters in it. The secondary characters were just as fun to read as Mendax and Davina.

Fumbled into Love by Nicola Cubba

4 Stars

Deon Adams doesn’t date.

It’s a rule that keeps the quarterback’s heart safe. But, his rules change when a reporter digs up the past Deon has fought hard to leave behind. Now, he has to find a woman to take to a charity auction who will help him sell his lie. It can’t be hard to find a fake girlfriend, right? Realizing he’s in over his head, Deon's teammates help conjure a grand plan: Ask Nathalie Morales to act as his fake girlfriend.

It’s the perfect play. They have the history to weave a convincing lie, but Deon’s play call begins to crumble when Nathalie brings the light back into Deon’s life. How is he supposed to pretend their relationship is fake when his feelings are real? As the charity gala looms closer and with it, the end of their fake relationship, Deon is left with the most important play call of his life: Does he play it safe or risk it all and potentially fumble into love?

I loved this story and will be reading the other books in the series. One of the best things in this book was about the different kinds of love. Deon and Nathalie may have started fake dating but the slow move into friends with benefits into all out love was amazing. I loved that there was no big drama between them just both refusing to admit they love each other. When they finally do it was perfect. The marriage proposal was also the sweetest thing in the world. One of the best reads I had for the month.

Lemon Cake by Tanja Longoria

Rider

Rider had one sole focus: football. The game demanded his attention, which was why he hadn’t allowed himself to date anyone since he went pro.
Then in walked Gemma. The moment Rider had laid eyes on her he’d known she was special—his kind of special. Suddenly, he had something else commanding his heart.

Gemma

Gemma knew far too well what it meant to be obsessed with the game. She’d played herself—until an accident had taken that away from her. Though Gemma loved to watch Rider, sitting on the sidelines as an amputee had a bittersweet feeling to it.

Will the two find comfort in each other? Or will their insecurities rip them apart?

This was an ok read for me. It was just to insta love for me and I wanted more development of why Rider loved Gemma. He seemed all in just because she played football. Gemma lost a limb and that seemed to be what Rider focused on. It was an interesting story just not my favorite read for the month.

I loved this take on the grinch. Super short and spicy read. I loved every minute of it. Really wish there was more with these two characters just because I loved them.

Worth the Chance by Clara Mott

4 Stars

Eliza Mills has gone through a lot in the past few years. Her boyfriend dumping her? Check. Her best friend ghosting her? Check. Getting sick and eventually diagnosed with celiac disease? Check. Despite everything her hopeless romantic heart stays firmly intact. Eliza is excited for her fresh start as she transfers into Watertown University her junior year with a space of her own. There’s only one problem - a roommate she never expected.

Garrett Moore is determined to never fall in love. After a rocky upbringing he believes it’s the safest path for him in life and so far, so good. As his senior year starts he finds himself in a surprising living situation and despite his new roommate being incredibly gorgeous, kind and somewhat sassy, the NHL bound hockey star refuses to let that phase him. His plan is going well until one day he sees her looking uncomfortable on campus and he ends up claiming her as his own.

The two decide to form a mutually beneficial, fake, relationship but what happens when the line between what’s fake and what’s real gets blurred?

I really liked Eliza and Garrett. I hadn’t read book one and don’t feel like it’s necessary to read it. Loved the disability rep with Eliza and the struggles of flare ups when things go wrong. The one big detractor for me was Garrett’s secret. It was revealed late and not thoroughly enough for me. It was still a good read.

Kittens and Kidnappers by Nicolette Pierce

4 Stars

As a witch with subpar magic skills and dings on my personnel record with the Forgotten Falls Police Department, I must work hard to keep my position. I get a chance to prove myself when I’m pulled into a missing persons case.

Chasing down leads, I quickly realize this case is not ordinary. Something mysterious is happening to the inhabitants of Forgotten Falls and causing havoc to the town.

Delving deeper into the investigation, I uncover a dark secret that threatens not only the creatures I promised to protect, but the fate of witchcraft. With limited magic abilities, I continue my search even though I know I might not be able to save them or myself.

If you love magical mysteries, epic failures, secret societies, and misadventures, you’ll love Kittens and Kidnappers. Warning: Things are not always as they seem in Forgotten Falls, and my wolf boss is about to bite my head off. Save me.

Wren is back with another mystery to solve. We see her connecting more with people in town. Uncovering more secrets and hints of things to come. The story itself flowed nicely and the characters were more fleshed out in this one. Can’t wait for the next book.

Winter Caress by R O’Leary

4 Stars

He’s broken, her wolf is a killing machine, and somehow they have to survive the holidays… together.

Keep a handle on her wolf. Easier said than done. After months of being held in captivity, Bea’s wolf is unpredictable, at best. And on her bad days? Downright monstrous. She’s barely keeping herself from going furry and attacking her toaster every time her toast pops up—and now she has to celebrate Christmas with her noisy family? Not if Bea can help it.

What she needs is a reason to be unavailable… like a new boyfriend. Now she just needs to convince the sexy bird-shifter from her support group to go along with her plan.

Tortured, battered, and just a little bit broken, Connor is having one hell of a year. After being poked at by scientists and spending months stuck in his bird form, he’s still getting used to being human again. The noise, the emotions, the nightmares. It’s all too much.

The last thing he wants to do right now is sing Christmas carols with his pushy clan. He’s been tortured enough, thanks. When a pretty wolf with haunted eyes offers him an arrangement, it’s just the escape he wants. If only he could as easily escape the need burning in his gut every time he looks in her direction…

Working together, they might be able to dodge their families through the holidays… if they don’t get caught under the mistletoe first.

Bea gets her HEA which is well earned. Loved seeing how she has worked through her trauma. Connor has just as much trauma he is working through and watching them come together was amazing. Added to the overarching story and loved every minute of it.

Boulder Bear by Sophie Stern

3 Stars

We were mates, but then he left. Now I know that I'm better off without him.

Or am I?

It's been six years, eleven months, and four days since Dante left Boulder. I know this not because I've been hoping he'll return, but because I've been counting how many days I've been fine without him. I am, too. I have my clan. I have my company.

And I have my son.

Our son.

Dante never needs to know about Wilder. If he finds out that he's got a son, I just know he's going to come back to town, but I've moved on. We've all moved on.

But all of that is about to change...

Dante comes barreling back to Boulder acting like everything is the same, but I'm different now. I don't need a husband. I don't need a mate. I don't need anything he could possibly have to offer, but my bear is begging to disagree.

And I don't know if my heart can handle it.

I enjoyed this but it is very lacking on world building or character development. I enjoyed the plot and you will be angry with the people in FMC and MMC who screw them both over. It is a quick and easy read.

Hexed Heart by R O’Leary

3 Stars

A broken monster. A desperate witch. A match made in hell.

The kingdom of Davos is in chaos, and so is Wilos. Banished by his king, the cat shifter is doing his best to keep it together… and failing. Who knew farming would be so hard? The sooner the cat takes over and drags him off into the woods for good, the better.

Curse them all—if Verity could go back in time and slap every last one of her foolish fellow witches, she would in a heartbeat. Create an army of monsters hellbent on revenge? Not the witches’ smartest plan. There’s nothing left to do but run and hope that nothing with fangs catches up to her… especially while she sneaks a desperate night of sleep.

The last thing Wilos needs is a witch hiding out on his farm. She’s beautiful and annoyingly alluring, but she’s a witch—and the sooner he gets rid of her, the sooner he can go back to being left alone.

With half the kingdom hunting her and his cat watching her every move, getting rid of the stubborn creature might be easier said than done.

I think if I started with this book I probably would have liked it better than I did. It gave more information on what led to what is happening in the current books. Since most of the information in this book was already mentioned in other books it felt repetitive. The writing was good and it did flesh out some things so worth the read.

Dear Grumpy Boss by Julia Wolf

4 Stars

I’ve spent the better part of the last few years successfully avoiding my brother’s best friend, Weston Aldrich.

As CEO of Andes Inc, the infuriatingly handsome and incessantly grumpy Weston also happens to be my new boss.

It shouldn’t have been hard to continue avoiding him. After all, he’s on the executive floor and I’m one of many copywriters.

Weston has his own ideas about how things should go between us. He’s in my emails, leaving notes on my desk, and as if that’s not enough, he arranges for me to accompany him on a business trip.

That leads to stolen touches, frenzied kisses, and the undeniable need to work each other out of our systems. That always works, right?

Except now that I know what it feels like to have Weston Aldrich appreciate every inch of my abundant curves, avoiding him is impossible.

But he’s my brother’s best friend.

And a workaholic.

We have to stop.

And we will.

Soon.

Just…not yet.

Loved this book. The snarky covertness from Elise to Weston made me laugh throughout the book. I loved how Weston was all in with Elise and her daughter almost immediately. The story flowed nicely and made me want to go and read the other books by the author. My biggest complaint was the Elise was a bit of a doormat with her baby daddy and it did get frustrating.

Book 4.5 Raven Falls Curse

Banished to a trailer park with nothing but the clothes on his back, Carter has lost everything worthwhile in his life. The tiger inside of him isn’t so sure…

There’s nothing Shelby wants more than to finish up her degree and keep her hellion siblings out of trouble through Christmas break… but her new neighbor is making it hard to focus. He’s sexy, arrogant, and makes sculptures out of beer cans in his yard. There’s nothing about him that should appeal to her, but Shelby can’t take her eyes off of him—maybe because he can’t ever seem to put a shirt on?

All Carter had to do was keep his furry nose out of other people’s business, but he just had to go and do the right thing. Now he’s disowned, destitute, and stuck in the trailer park from hell. Drowning his misery in cheap beer and toaster waffles, he’s doing his best to avoid the loud pack of humans that live next door… especially the one with the cute freckles.

Avoiding Shelby is only going to get more difficult as the holidays draw closer… because the only thing Carter’s tiger wants for Christmas, is her.

Really enjoyed seeing Carter get his HEA with everything he has been through. Loved how it connected with the other short stories…may have read them out of order. Was interesting to see him go from wanting to be left alone and falling for Shelby. It was short and quick read. Melded well with the rest of the series and added to the overarching story.

Wanted: Paranormal Tracker

Late nights, low pay, dangerous assignments, and a cranky boss (werewolf, actually). Apply in person. If wolf is in bad mood, run.

As an untrained witch arriving in the town of Forgotten Falls, I must fight to become a paranormal tracker. Getting the irritable police chief to hire me is a challenge I’m willing to take in order to leave my old life behind. But in a wolf dominated profession, I must prove I can do the job.

Stumbling upon a dead body, I leave the case in the police’s hands, knowing my subpar witch skills are better off tracking than sleuthing. But as I settle into my new town, clues emerge. The killer is on a mission and more people will die. After I receive a threatening message, I know I must act before it’s too late.

To make matters worse, the only room available to rent comes with an occupant. Thinking Niles is just an obstinate talking cat, I find I’m wrong. Niles has secrets of his own. In the hidden town of Forgotten Falls, where witches and paranormal creatures live, anything is possible.

LOVED this book. Met the author at an event and the cover drew me in and then the description was interesting, so I gave it a shot. With the book slump I’ve been in wasn’t expecting much but I blew through it and wanted more. I loved the Wren and finding out what is going on with her magic and her life was interesting. Light in Us by Evelyn Flood

3 Stars

“Welcome to Ink & Quill, Fallon.” Teddy leans back in his chair and grins at me. “This feels like the start of a beautiful friendship.”

Fallon wasn’t expecting to land a job at the best publishing house in the city. But Teddy, golden-eyed omega and CEO of Ink & Quill, is strangely insistent that he needs her.

And Fallon really needs this job. Any job. More than Teddy could possibly know.

But when she walks through the doors of Ink & Quill, she’s not expecting them. The Quill pack are charming, protective as hell, and oddly interested in her. Not to mention, they all smell delicious.

Teddy, Fox, Wilder, Zeke and Rowan are almost too tempting to resist. And as Fallon gets to know them, she begins to wish that things could be different.

Because there’s just one problem.

Fallon already has a pack. A pack who are Ink & Quill’s biggest competitors.

And she’s only staying until she can earn enough money to run as far away from them as possible.

This was gearing up to be a 4 star read for me until the end. It was too abrupt. I loved the FMC and the pack she ends up with. They were all in and wanted to take care of her from the get go. The guys she was with need consequences and we don’t see them getting that in the book. Which with what they did was so not ok for me. Overall, the writing was good, the characters were good, but the plot needed some work.

4 Stars

Her siren call might just be more than he can handle…

Another day, another stalker. Every time a tiny bit of Lexie’s power leaks out, it enthralls any poor fool unlucky enough to be standing next to her. The magic always wears off… eventually. The siren has no choice but to lay low and wait for the obsession to pass.

What better place to hide out than a town full of monsters?

Cam is on loan to the town of Raven Falls to solve their shifter problem. But no matter how hard the scientist tries, he can’t seem to get the monsters back to their human form. It’s not exactly a surprise. He can’t even fix his own broken monster. The last thing he needs is another distraction from his work. Because that’s exactly what the clumsy siren is. A curvy, enticing distraction.

Cam has a job to do—now if only he can ignore her sweet siren call long enough to do it.

Loved Cam and Lexie together. Cam is such a dick with everyone but her…for the most part. Lexie can’t speak because of her talents woo anyone who hears it. She ends up with so many stalkers because of her talent. I love what happens with the bad guy in this one and these two. Without any spoilers I love how Cam handles her talent and just wants to love her. One of the best reads in this series.

Do I hand myself over to the enemy in order to save the lives of my pack?

Do I take my pup and run, alone?

Do Jax and I try to escape and start a new rogue life for our family?

Or do we stay and fight, knowing that we may lose everything…

Still not a huge fan of Jax. He again screws around in this one without finding out any consequences and I am frustrated by this. I do love all the other characters. I also loved how everything plays out with the overarching plot from book 1 to 2. There are more books in the series and I will be checking them out.

Bewitching Allure by R O’Leary

3 Stars

All magic has a price... but to possess the witch, he's willing to do whatever it takes.

Don't get involved with monsters. That's Juniper's number one rule for staying under the radar... and the one rule the witch has trouble following. She should have turned down the shifter Alpha when he offered her the job, but the money was good and her sister needed new soccer cleats.

All magic comes with a price... and so does interfering. Alone and hunted by witches and undead alike, Juniper has no choice but to embrace her powers--and somehow find a way to keep the handsome FBI agent dogging her steps from getting killed in the crossfire.

FBI Special Agent Alexander Reid has one job: recruit the witch. Piece of cake, right?

Wrong. Sure, Juniper is beautiful, and fiery, and following her around is far more entertaining than being chained to a desk — but getting attacked by undead monsters isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Reid is in over his head and he knows it. Quitting his job is looking more and more appealing with each horrifyingly supernatural minute, but there's something about Juniper that he can't seem to get out of his head.

The bewitching temptress is driving him mad--but is it magic... or something else entirely?

This was the first book in the series I struggled with. I liked Reid a lot but Juniper was a struggle. She jumped to conclusions so many times that caused so many issues. I still enjoyed the getting the HEA and finding out more about the big bad but it was one I put down a couple of times before I finished it. All other books were sit down and finish in one sitting. It still worth reading just not my favorite.

Rejected by the Alpha King by KA Iris

4 Stars

I was the alpha king's fated mate.

Until he rejected me, banished me, and left me to die.

Years later he's back, and my wolf wants him more than ever...

I'm not sure why Alpha Jax came back into my life after humiliating me.

But I can barely control myself around him.

All my wolf wants to do is feel his touch, his bond, his everything.

But there's no way we could ever be together. I hate how much he hurt me, how much he made my heart suffer.

Jax offers me a deal to be free- in exchange for helping him with a dangerous mission.

But once he finds out the secret I'm hiding, I'll be killed.

I just have to escape him before that happens...

This book made me so mad, and I am still mad at Jax for not communicating and being a dick. I loved Anna and she should have made him grovel so much more than he did. This does end on a cliff but book two is out. It also wasn’t a major issue anyways as most of the storyline was wrapped up. Anna chooses to do something to save the pack even though they hate her. I loved seeing Anna’s growth in this book and see who all was the bad guys so far. Can’t wait to read the next one.

Deathly Desires by R O’Leary

4 Stars

For months the wolf has watched his mate from afar. He's finally ready to make his move... that is, if a tiny witch doesn't derail his plans.

A wolf only gets one mate, and Bennett's monster chose the minute he laid eyes on Iris. The smiling ghoul is fierce and beautiful... and way out of his league. That's not going to stop him from getting the girl--assuming he can ever get his foot out of his mouth and actually ask her out.

His wolf is ready to seal the deal, but Bennett's past has other plans. He made a deal to save a life and it's time to pay up... it just never occurred to him that the price might include babysitting a preteen witch. How the hell is he supposed to keep a kid alive when he can't even stop a potted plant from dying?

Iris has had very little time for anything in her life but work. She certainly doesn't have the time to lust after a wolf... but for him, she might just be willing to make an exception. Tattooed and all kinds of sexy, the scarred wolf is exactly the kind of monster she needs in her life--and her bed.

When Bennett ends up on her doorstep saddled with a tiny witch, Iris has no choice but to offer her help. She might be a ghoul with teeth like a shark, but she's not a monster.

Besides, helping the wolf means keeping him close... very close. And with nowhere to hide, how long before they can't help but give in to the wolf's desire?

I loved the give and take between Iris and Bennett. I was curious how a Ghoul would work as the FMC but she was such a sweetheart and was amazing with the witchling Bennett was put in charge of. They work on figuring out more of the mystery that had been affecting all those they love and end up falling in love which was fun to watch. I loved the witchling and how Bennett was with her and hope she gets to stay with them as family because her backstory hurts my heart.
