Werewolf Dates the Deputy by Kristen Painter

The Werewolf Dates The Deputy (Nocturne Falls Book 12) by [Kristen Painter]

4 Stars

Fire chief and werewolf Titus Merrow is happy with where he is in life.  He loves his family and his job.  He also loves needling Sheriff’s Deputy and Valkyrie Jenna Blythe.  They are pushed together by Titus’ brother to work on the 10k charity race.  They are ignoring what is in front of them until they are hexed to not only love each other but are bound to each other.  They will need to work together to figure out who cast the spell to unravel it.

After the last book in this series I was hesitant to read this one.  I’ve read all the books and these two characters were in the first book and several of the other ones as well so I had high hopes for any book with these two.  I was also concerned once the love spell came into play.  It skeeves me out that they might do things that they wouldn’t normally consent to without the spell.  However, it was handled really well and I enjoyed how it was handled.  My only ding to the story was the bad guy was kind of obvious.  This did make up for my not liking the last book.

You do not need to have read the rest of this series to understand what is going on in the book.

Dragon Days, Witch Nights by Donna MacDonald

Dragon Days, Witch Nights: Magic and Mayhem Universe (My Crazy Paranormal Romance Book 1) by [Donna McDonald]

3 Stars

Elenora has been the Jezibaba for several hundred years.  She is also reluctantly a dragon.  To top off all the other things she is dealing with her lover Damien has decided to go before the dragon council and demand she be recognized as his mate.  The dragon council is determined to not recognize her since she couldn’t be a dragon.

I wanted to like this book more than I did.  It was very slow start which made it hard to get into and since it is a short story that is a bug problem in my book.  There was a point in the book where it finally picked up and then loved the story.  It just took way to long to get there.  There are also parts of the story that would make more sense if you had read the original series these characters were in.  Overall, I liked the ending enough to check out the next book.

Visions in Silver by Anne Bishop

Vision In Silver (A Novel of the Others Book 3)

4 Stars

There is more danger for the cassandra sangue and those who are trying to help them.  Meg is fighting her addiction to cutting but still trying to keep those she loves safe.  Simon is juggling his duty to the others with his need to protect and take care of Meg.

I liked this book.  It wasn’t as good as the first one and there were some small pacing issues in the middle of the book.  It does pick up and the ending is wonderful.  It was a good addition to the series.

I love Alexandra Harris.  She gets all the voices to sound so unique and makes listening to these stories so enjoyable. I love how she brings the story to life.

Book 3 The Others

Promo: Bad Idea by Robin Covington

I’m ridiculously excited about the release of BAD IDEA on 8.24.20!

This is my first cartoon cover and it was a long journey to get to it. When I decided that I wanted to write a series about three biracial, Native American (just like me) brothers it was impossible to find a photo that was a good representation. They were all stereotypes or just awful – I almost gave up. But then I found this amazing artist, CM Donovan, and they took the guys in my head and made them come to life!

I couldn’t be happier with how BAD IDEA turned out – wait until you see the next two covers!

The two other books in the series will be out in a quick release: BAD BET will debut on 9.21.20 and BAD HABIT will be on your e-readers on 10.19.20!

Xoxo

Blurb:

Twelve years should have been long enough . . .

Twila Parsons left me high and dry on prom night with nothing but a purple rented tux (don’t judge), a wilting corsage and, an “it’s not you, it’s me” note to explain her escape from Jezebel Cove.

I got over her pretty quick – or at least that’s the lie I believed until Twila strutted back into town and my life.

One unforgettably hot kiss later and I realize that getting within five feet of her is the dumbest idea I’ve ever had.

But the Cove’s not that big and I can’t stop from getting closer and closer – until I’m falling for her all over again.

And this town’s only going to get smaller when she finds out that I’m the reason she had to leave her new life behind and come back to the last place she wanted to be – Jezebel Cove.

**This is the first book in an exciting, fun, & sexy series – but it can totally be read as a stand-alone. It features a hot, second-chance romance between a grumpy, commitment-challenged builder and woman who’s sick and tired of her family nonsense and determined not to fall in love with the man she won’t be able to leave a second time.**

Murder of Crows by Anne Bishop

Murder of Crows (A Novel of the Others Book 2) by [Anne Bishop]

4.5 Stars

*Warning on this story.  The first chapter of the story talks about the rape of a teenager by neighborhood boys.  It isn’t graphic but it might upset some. *

Meg is settling in with the Others.  She’s learning more about where her limits are and what she can and can’t do.  Until trouble starts popping up with two new drugs on the market that are making people either extremely violent or so out of it, they won’t defend themselves.  Simon and the Lakeside Courtyard will need to figure out what is causing this to save everyone.

The only real reason I docked a half star is because there was less Meg and more other people being given a narrative.  I still loved the story.  More is discussed and addressed with Meg’s storyline.  I really enjoyed this story.  The pacing in it was spot on.  I never felt they needed to move on other then when I wanted to get back to Meg but that doesn’t count.  I really enjoyed the interpersonal relationship between Meg and Simon.  Can’t wait for the next book.

This book was also narrated by Alexandra Harris.  Just like with the last book she did an amazing job and is worth listening to the book.
