Lucy’s been living on Colony for a while.  She isn’t interested in a long term relationship so she has been avoiding all the possible mates to not give anyone false hope.  Everyone is invited to Prillon Prime for a surprise party for the Queen.  While there she decides to have a fling with two Prillon males who want to keep her. 

I am going to admit that I am in a book funk and this might have reflected in why this book was just meh for me.  I’ve read all of the books in this series and for the most part liked all of them.  This one just didn’t work for me.  Lucy stated from the beginning she wasn’t interested in sleeping with anyone that lived on the Colony as she wasn’t interested in a long term relationship.  The problem is literally within 5 minutes of meeting her Prillons she was hooking up.  In general these books tend towards the insta love but this one seemed to be more so and there wasn’t really a chance to get to know them as a triad.  The books was mostly about bringing all of the old couples back and it was great to see where they all were it just would have been nice to have more with the main characters.  Overall, it worked and fit in the world but it just didn’t enthrall me like past books.

Zara wants to get out of a bad situation on Earth and goes through the Interstellar Bride Program to find herself a mate.  When she ends up on the Trion planet and sees her mate murdered within minutes of meeting she finds herself kidnapped and moved to the outer limits of space.  Before she can be handed over she is able to escape and with the help of Isaak gets off the planet.  He wants her desperately but doesn’t think he deserves her so he will keep her safe but then walk away.  Even with that plan in place he can’t keep his hands off of her.  They will need to work together to catch traitor and keep people safe. 

I am not sure why I didn’t like this book more.  I’ve like most of the other books in the series but this one didn’t do it for me.  It started strong.  Zara rescues herself from a bad situation and seemed like a majorly badass until they get back to Trion.  Then she seemed to become a whimpery female until the very end of the story.  It was very annoying.  Plus he wants her to call him master from almost the beginning and she refuses until the very end.  It came across as a bit contrived when she does start calling him master.  It was an ok addition to the series.  There are much better books in the series than this one.  I will say you don’t have to read the other 19 books in the series or the spin-off series to understand what is going on in this book.  If you’re interested in the author check out one of her other books.
