I enjoyed this book a lot. It was well written and I loved Beau and Honey. There give and take was a fun read. There were some issues. I felt there was too many tropes going on and it wasn’t necessary. It bogged down the story a bit. I loved how things resolved between Beau and Honey’s brothers. Overall, it was a good story and I enjoyed how Beau and Honey get their HEA.

As a firefighter Parker knows what his life is going to be like until he meets Tamsen. She calls for help and his team shows up. He feels connected to her but doesn’t want to pursue her since he met her on a call that is until he meets her again at his mother’s engagement party where the groom to be is Tamsen’s father. Since his mother is very wealthy he wants to find out if Tamsen’s dad is a gold digger. Best way to find out is to get close to his daughter. Will he be able to keep feelings out of it?

I wanted to like this one but I hated the main characters. They were both so ridiculous and I couldn’t connect with them. I felt like they were both so shallow and I just couldn’t get passed it and like the book. Parker is an ass and is investigating Tamsen’s dad which is fine but he uses her to find information and that wasn’t good. It was a hard pass for me.

Winnie has sworn off men. She's got the worst luck in love and she's trying to get everything else in life set. Then she gets anew neighbor. He just so happens to be a firefighter, single father, and the grumpiest man alive. Dex is just trying to give his girls a happy life after the divorce. His ex micromanages everything with the girls. What he doesn't need is a hot next door neighbor who makes him want more but do they want the same things?

I enjoyed this book for the most part. One of the reasons for just an ok rating was the Dex literally loses his everloving mind repeatedly and yelling at everyone around him including his two kids. It’s verbal abuse an apology doesn’t resolve him of the trauma that he does. If it was a one off, it would have been fine, but it wasn’t. The writing was good, and the world building was interesting so I will check out the other books in the series.
