Nine Month Contract by Amy Daws

3.5 Stars

Help Wanted: Grumpy mountain man seeks baby momma. Job is an incubator position only. Surrogate must be impervious to grunting as the form of communication and nosy brotherly neighbors. Rustic mountain range housing available upon request.

I wanted to pummel my irritating brothers when they posted their own version of a wanted ad to help me with my life.

But I can’t fault the results once the right woman lands in my lap.

Becoming a single father is not a decision I made lightly. In fact, it’s the biggest decision of my entire life.

Which is why when I interview Trista, I know she’s perfect.

She’s wild, she’s opinionated, she wears cowboy boots. Even my pet goat loves her…

She’s the exact type of person I was holding out for.

And to my great horror, I realize on our first night of attempting this baby-making dance—when the lights are low, the cheap wine is flowing and the home-insemination supplies are laid out on the kitchen counter—I want to do a lot more than just make her my surrogate.

I want to make her mine.

I enjoyed the audiobook. It was a slowish story to get to the HEA but it was worth the wait. It was different as Wyatt’s niece picks Trista to have her uncle’s baby. Trista had every intention on walking away once the kid is born as she doesn’t feel she would be a good mom. The way they make the kid is interesting… Once they finally admit they don’t want to end their relationship it was so cute and I loved it.

I really enjoyed listening to the audiobook. Wyatt was a bit of a grump and he never gets better but he is so sweet with Trista. Trista was a bit to sunshiny and it did grate. I also questioned if she really would have been ok walking away. The give and take between them and how it went from just a transaction to all in was fun to read.

Happily Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez

3.5 Stars

Artist Sloan Monroe just can't seem to get her life on track. But one troublemaking pup who randomly jumps into her car with a ""take me home"" look in his eyes is about to change everything. With Tucker by her side, Sloan finally starts to feel more like herself. Then, after weeks of unanswered texts, Tucker's owner reaches out. He's a musician on tour in Australia. And bottom line: He wants Tucker back.

Well, Sloan's not about to give up her dog without a fight. But what if this Jason guy really loves Tucker? As their flirty texts turn into long calls, Sloan can't deny a connection. Jason is hot, nice, and funny. There's no telling what could happen when they meet in person. The question is: With his music career on the rise, how long will Jason really stick around? And is it possible for Sloan to survive another heartbreak?

Jason was so stupid in this book. I loved Sloane and she had been through so much. Which made me feel she deserved better than Jason’s actions. The story flowed nicely and I was definitely invested in their HEA. The audiobook made it a super fast read and I loved the narrators.

A Favor for a Favor by Helena Hunting

A Favor for a Favor (All In Book 2) by [Helena Hunting]

4 Star

Stevie is having a very crappy day.  It's her birthday and she thought she would surprise her boyfriend by coming out earlier than planned.  Instead she's surprised by finding him with another woman.  Her brother hooks her up with a place to stay and her new neighbor is a jerk and she still has to work with her ex.  Bishop thinks is new neighbor is the mistress to his teammate and doesn't want to like her.  That is until he's injured on the ice and needs her help to rehab his injury to get him off the injured list faster.

This was a very slow burn book.  It takes a while for Stevie and Bishop to officially get together and I enjoyed the ride getting there.  I didn't like Stevie's brother overly much.  He kind of pissed me off through most of the book.  He never bothered to find out if Bishop was serious just assumed he was interested just for revenge against him.  This caused issues and it made me mad.  Overall, I enjoyed the book and will be checking out the next one.

Audio: 4 Star

Loved both narrators.  They handled each character nicely and I will be checking out future books narrated by them.
