No one speaks about
the battle of Doncaster. Everything fell apart and the impossibility of
repairing what’s been broken continues to haunt us. Especially after losing
Elwyna, everything seems hopeless.
Trygve and I prepare
for another war that looms on the horizon, spreading throughout Mercia and now
Wessex, despite King Edmund’s attempts at peace. A third threat hails from East
Anglia, in Wales, where a witch named The Dark One has been spreading chaos.
Rumors of her powers have devoured the four kingdoms in fear.
When our peace
depends on finding the Dark One and bringing her to clear the curse put on King
Edmund’s wife by another, we find that more than one thing bonds us all
together.
Will King Edmund be
able to create peace in a land that is destined for massacre? Will the identity
of the Dark One finally be revealed?
I have never been so
mad at a sequel. I liked book one (Book 1)
and was hoping for some good HEA with this one. You will not get that with this
book. Don't like anyone because they all die. It was like the author wanted
historically accurate versus a romance. I understand that but I was reading
based on book one of a romance. There is one good spicy scene but then all
others felt forced and not interesting. There was also a lot of info dumping.
It was a lot to take in and then the book ends so freaking depressing.
