Books to the ceiling, Books to the sky, My pile of books is a mile high. How I love them! How I need them! I'll have a long beard by the time I read them.
- Arnold Lobel
Vienne has been kidnapped from her human village to serve
the Ghertun.When she's sent on a
mission to the capital to tell the horde king what they want she isn't sure she
will be successful but to protect her family she will try.But before she can succeed she is stopped by
the mad Horde King. They both are keeping secrets from each other. Will they be
able to work together to take down the Ghertun?
This one was interesting. It wasn't bad but it did frustrate
me. They both had their reasons for keeping secrets but at some point they
should have been honest with each other Instead they aren't and don't really
work together until it's almost to late. It just frustrated me.Overall, it fit with the rest of the series
but it wasn’t one of my favorites
Everly is going home with her head hanging knowing she left
with no interest in going back. However, when you turn states evidence against
your husband and need to nurse your wounds home is where you want to be. She
expects there to be pushback but not having to prove herself before being
allowed in. after passing the good is evil test she gets in but there is still
the board who will decide whether she's allowed to stay. Before the can decide
the gatekeeper of Hells gate dies and his powers transfer to her. They weren't
supposed to. To stop it from being permanent she needs to find the person who
had trained for the position to transfer the power to. Will she be able to find
this girl in time and keep the town safe?
The premise of this book sound so good. The actual book did
not live up to the hype. Evenly was a whiny woman who I didn't like from the
beginning. It was all oh no my husband
did all these bad things and now I am forced to go home. Then this super bad
thing happens and she's gotta step up and she is still whiny about it. A whole
bunch of people die, and she doesn't seem to care. Beyond not liking the main
character there wasn't any world building which made it that much harder to
connect. Overall, premise good but bad implementation and not going to attempt
to read the rest of the series when they come out.
300-year-old dragon Gabriel Blakemore has survived a coup
from his world and moved to earth to live. What he wasn’t planning on was being cursed by a witch. He now has to find someone to save him, or he
will die.Raven Tanglewood is that
woman. The problem she has spent the
last 5 years dying from brain cancer.Gabriel gives her a second chance, but she has to find out a way to
break the curse.
This one was interesting book. You have a voodoo queen who is trying to seduce
a dragon for some reason.You have a
woman who is dying from brain cancer saved but changed who finds out she has a
very unique ancestor that helps figure out how to help Gabriel.

ABOUT THE BOOK
Cliff's Descent: A Vampire's Tale Immortal Guardians #11 By Dianne Duvall Releasing date: July 27, 2021 For the first time, New York Times bestselling author Dianne Duvall brings readers a novel--set in the "fast-paced" (Publishers Weekly) and "totally addictive" (RT Book Reviews) world of the Immortal Guardians--that revolves around a vampire… one who has become a friend and trusted ally of the powerful warriors.
Every mortal who works at network headquarters knows that vampires reside below them. They were the first to surrender to the powerful Immortal Guardians who hunt them. And they did so, hoping they can be saved, that the doctors and scientists the Immortal Guardians employ can halt the progressive brain damage that robs all vampires of their sanity. Though curious, Emma never thought she would meet any of the vampires who remain under heavy guard several stories beneath her office. Then mercenaries strike, bombarding the building with heavy artillery. The vampires are freed to join the fray… and Cliff saves her life.
From that moment on, she can't stop thinking about him regardless of the restrictions placed on interactions with vampires. When Emma discovers a way to speak to Cliff at network headquarters, she becomes even more fascinated by him. He's smart, charming, and honorable to his core despite the darkness that lies ahead. And he seems to crave her company as much as she does his. Aware of the eyes that watch them, they keep their encounters innocent, limiting them to those of mere acquaintances. Nevertheless, their attraction grows and she soon falls in love with him even as the madness begins to claim him.
Cliff realizes his future is dark. As one vampire friend after another succumbs to insanity, hope that network doctors will be able to find a cure in time to keep him from meeting the same fate begins to dwindle, leaving him little to look forward to… until he meets Emma. Just speaking to her brings him a happiness and contentment he hasn't experienced since before his transformation. And when they finally find a way to be alone together, everything changes. Emma burrows her way right into his heart and quiets the voices. She sparks dreams of a future with her that strengthen his determination to beat back the madness. But as time passes, the voices grow louder and insanity begins to chip away at him until he fears it will eradicate every part of him she fell in love with.
Will the two of them find a way to defy the odds and find their happily-ever-after? Or will Cliff's descent consume him?

We FINALLY get to find out what happened with Daniel from
the series KTS.He kidnaps Molly in this
book that leads into that series.Things
now make sense in that series.Besides that,
this book was just ok.It wasn’t my
favorite and quite frankly Jackson is an asshole who screwed her over and then
didn’t really like the fact she wanted to boot him completely from her
life. After finishing the book, I still
say she deserves better.

Kelsey lives for her hookups. She is no longer interested in a permanent
relationship because the one time she got series she got burned. She gave her everything to Tanner and he left
her.Tanner is asked to come home and be
a groomsman and be paired up with his ex.Burned out from life he packs up and moves home to try and win Kelsey
over.
I really didn’t like Tanner at all.He was a major dick and Kelsey just kind of
takes him back without much fuss.It is
frustrating that he can be a dick and she is willing to put up with it. Gr I
will be skipping this in reread.
Seraphina is gorgeous and so sweet. At least that is what everyone expects from
her. She’s trying to sell a house to billionaire
Tate instead she gets propositioned to be his fake fiancรฉ to help him bring an
investor in.
This frustrated me so much.Tate literally fell in love with the look of Sera.Eventually he learns who she is but for most
of the book, it’s all about her looks. This
is something she was against but she fell for him anyways, so I was frustrated
with this book from the beginning. Not to mention the fact that friends she has
had her entire life apparently don’t know who she is.Why are you still friends with them if they
don’t know you?Overall, I was frustrated
with this book.
Bec Darden is a high-powered attorney. She never planned on seeing her ex-husband
Luke again.The problem they aren’t
technically divorced.It isn’t
discovered until he was looking for a new license to marry his current
girlfriend.He’s now decided he wants
her back and will do whatever he can to win her over.
I LOVE Bec and this really disappointed me.Luke was literally about to marry someone
else and all of sudden decides well I am still married so I guess I love her
soooo much I must go win her over.He
was a major ass and I just never really got past his reason for leaving the
first time or why he now decided to get her back.Writing was good and it was cute to see what
he would do to win her back but not a fan.
Rachel never thought she would hook up with someone, but she
did. Then she thought she would never
see him again but then her boss got married and she found out her boss’ new
husband’s assistant is the man she hooked up with.Sebastian felt bad about not leaving a number
and leaving her, but he had work to do.When
they meet back up, they can’t stay away from each other. However, Rachel is hiding something. Will Sebastian be able to break through her
defenses and win her over?
This one was ok.The
writing was there but I was not a huge fan of Rachel or Sebastian.I also got frustrated with how Rachel’s ex
was handled.Sebastian knew she was
being stalked and had been in an abusive relationship and yet she doesn’t
respond to his messages for a while, and it doesn’t click he should be
worried…Really? Overall, it was ok and it fit with the series but it wasn’t one
of my favorites.
Heather is tough as nails CEO of RoboTech. She is too busy for love but she wants it. When she helps her friends elope she goes out drinking and wakes up married to Clay Steele. Will they stay married and make it work?
I really enjoyed reading this. I liked both Heather and Clay. They weren't sure if they would stay together or not and you can see the struggle of trying to balance two very busy schedules. The mess up was amusing and I do like the fact that there wasn't a big blow up. Really good addition to the series.
Cecelia is finally getting to travel after years of work and
taking care of others. What she wasn’t
planning on was having her ex be her seat mate. She hasn’t seen Collin since he
broke her heart, and she doesn’t want to see him now. Collin thought it was fate he ended up on the
plane next to the one woman he loved. He
is determined to win her back after leaving her not once but twice. Will he be able to win her over?
The writing was like all her other books, but this book just
didn't work well for me. I was confused as to what broke them up the first and
second time. You do find out some of
what broke them up the second time but I was still left confused. Cecelia's
parents felt like an after thought. She
gets some random call out of the blue from her mom and that's all we get. One of the big reasons for there break up was
Colin’s family and you only really get the one scene with them as well. Overall the book left me wanting.
Abby is out for the night with her friend Seraphin when she
is hit on by some guy. She assumes he is just trying to get with her friend but
Jordan wants her. She takes him home and has the worst one-night stand ever. When
Jordan books it right after his completion without any satisfaction for her she
takes the hit and plans to forget him. What she doesn't plan for is a failed
IUD and an accidental pregnancy. What happens next is a whole lot of
miscommunications. Will Jordan find away to make it up to Abby?
I enjoyed this book.I
wanted to kill Jordan several times over but when you get his whole history you
can kind of see why he behaved the way he did. Abby also made him work for it. There
was no insta forgiveness he had to prove himself to her. I also liked the interplay between Abby and
her friends and I can't wait to get to their stories. Overall a good start to a
new series.
Former special forces veteran, Levi Hunt is finally making
his pro-hockey debut. He doesn't want to discuss his service and just wants to
play. Jordan Cooke is trying to get her reporter career off the ground. One of
her ins is the newest Chicago Rebels was the former teammate of her husband.
The problem with this in is the last time they met was the day her husband was
buried and they showed a kiss. Will she be able to ignore the chemistry and get
the story she needs?
I skipped vast parts of this book and still understand the
book. I've read way better sports books than this one and I didn't particularly
like Levi or Jordan. First you just lose your husband and are kissing another
guy and in reverse your BFF just died and you’re kissing his wife. WTF that's a
hard pass for me.Then when a story
breaks Levi is all about believing Jordan is willing to sleep her way to a big
break.Second there is a lot of sexism
in the book Jordan has to deal with and it's never really addressed. Like a
coworker sending dick pics and Jordan just puts up with it through the entire
book. Overall I would give this book a pass.
Stef is tired of being alone so she signs up for tinder. She
finds the perfect guy in Ben and after the first conversation she ghosts him.
He's too good for her until one fateful night out with friends where she has
too much to drink and drunk messages him. Ben's assistant signed him up for
tinder because he needs more than work. When he sees Stef's picture, he is very
interested but moves on when she ghosts him but is all in when he picks her up
after a night of drinking. He's determined to show her he's all in but she
needs the proof after years of being abandoned by everyone. They have the
perfect relationship until some major details are leaked about an upcoming
project Ben's company is doing. When he accuses her of being the leak and
kicking her out. Will she be able to
forgive him when the real leaker is discovered?
The writing was spot on for this book it just hit two tropes
I don't like. The first being they meet and fall into bed within hours of
meeting. The second being insta forgiveness. I enjoyed the story. It was fun
seeing Ben prove to Stef he was going to be there for her until he kicked her
out. That part came out of left field but it worked. I do feel Stef forgave Ben
way too quickly. She was injured when he booted her without any proof just
assumed she was the guilty person. Both these issues didn't make me hate the
story but I did put the book down for a couple days when they hooked up because
I wasn't interested. Overall, it fits with the series and I did like it.
