He knows how hard life can be and that not everything works out the way you plan. He has too much on his plate to be fantasizing about his assistant but when she starts getting weird calls and someone breaks into her home all bets are off. He will do anything to keep her safe.

I absolutely loved Ember and Colton. They are so opposite that they work together. The story was well written and I loved the struggle between Colton and Ember. Neither of them wanted something permanent and they fought it so hard but fail epically. The one big issue I had was how the bad guy is caught. Ember does something that is too stupid to live. It all works out and I am going to overlook it for the rest of the story being so good. Can’t wait for the next brother.

Tommaso is trying to figure out life after being traded to the team in Colorado following his very public fight with his family. One of the first things Tommaso needs to do is buy furniture for his house. This is the worst thing in the world for him to do. He doesn’t know what he needs or wants. While being tortured with terms he doesn’t know he sees a hot guy arguing with the salesclerk about a bill. He finds out Carter is an interior designer, which is perfect. Carter has been screwed over by a previous client and his ex-boyfriend until a chance encounter with star hockey player. Tommaso is a struggle to work with as he doesn’t have an opinion about anything and he’s hot as sin. Will they find what they’re looking for?  

I loved these two. It was fun to see the struggle Tommaso is going through. His life has changed so much because of his uncle and cousin. Then deciding what he wants out of his life. While Carter also has his own struggles that he’s dealing with. They have a chance meeting that starts their journey. They had great chemistry and getting to their HEA was amazing. The biggest issue I had was the uncle and cousin never really got what’s coming to them. If you’ve liked her other hockey books you will love this one.

Ember is on the run from an unknown entity who murdered her parents and framed her. She ends up working for most eligible bachelor Dante Fury. He owns and runs his bar. Tired of being one of the most eligible bachelors in the city he talks Ember into being his pretend girlfriend. He wants to protect her but also keep people away from him. Will he be able to keep her safe and keep his hands off of her?

Absolutely adored this book. We met Dante in a previous book and now we get to see him get his HEA with Ember. These two are so perfect for each other and I loved seeing them struggle with what they want vs what they should do. If you’ve liked Hackett’s other romance books you will enjoy this one. It is one of her best ones and will make you very happy.

CLIFF HANGER ENDING

Many secrets are revealed in this book which was so good because the last book just had more secrets than answers. This built from book 1 and you do have to read it to understand this one. I liked all the twist and turns this book takes. The guys are less dickish in this book but Lee is still a runner. Hale does like to end her books the same way. Once again Lee has been kidnapped. Worth reading but wait for book 3 to be out.

Lennox is ready to end everything. She’s tired of the world she lives in until she meets the new guys at school. They mean something to her but she’s not sure what. When it’s revealed they are magical and so is she. New training begins and it changes her whole life.

This book was so freaking confusing. It was an interesting concept just not well written. There were several times I flipped back pages to see what I missed because we were over doing something else. There’s also no character development or world building so it added to the confusion. It was all slapped together and things changed to suit the current needs of the characters. It’s a pass for me.

I enjoyed this book. There are times Lee Frustrated me. She would get upset with something the guys did and would run. Which would then put her in danger. She had every right to be mad as her mates were dicks. They opted out of a relationship with her so many times. They kept so many secrets that put her in more danger. The guys couldn’t get why she was angry and kept running. So many eye rolls with that. Overall, I enjoyed all the drama and the academy aspect of the book. Interested in seeing out this all plays out.
