Reaper Unhinged by Debbie Cassidy

3 Star

The world is ending if Fee and her men don’t find a way to prevent it. There are many obstacles they need to get through to save the world and there is no guarantee they will all survive.

This book felt like a filler book. Nothing really progresses in this book. Reapers get kidnapped, Fee saves them, and acquires another man to love on. It was incredibly slow book but at this point I need to know how the series ends as there is only one more book to read.

Shattered by Laurann Dohner and Kele Moon

3 Star

Desmon mated his Amber when they were young. He wanted her and he would have her. The only thing standing in his way was his uncle who hated all humans. When his uncle Albert forces the issue by stated she could only be claimed via the old way Desmon was forced to choose. He chose to keep Amber safe and walked away with the female werewolf figuring he had time to explain later. He couldn’t explain and years later Amber is back. Desmon is determined to make her listen and stay because he doesn’t want to be without her ever again. Will he be able to get her to stay or will outside forces keep them apart?

I didn’t like this one as much as I liked the first one. There was more world building which was good, but I wasn’t a huge fan of Amber. She just rubbed me the wrong way throughout the book. Then the big climax of the story she is kidnapped and forced into a change. Then the people who are supposed to police the weres literally are going to allow the attackers to keep her. WTF HELL NO. They give her no say in the matter and the Nightwind Pack gets a slap on the wrist for not turning her over. So, any of these wolves can go and change a human woman and they get to fucking keep her HELL NO. Overall, it was an ok book just I had issues with some of the book.

Reaper Undone by Debbie Cassidy

3 Star

After the death of a friend leads to a broken alliance Fee and her men need to find out who murdered the bride. They need to work together to track down the murderer and keep the world from complete chaos.

I am tired of Fee getting a new mate every book. Every new person is a new mate. Each of her mates then get upset because they really don’t want to share her to begin with and now there is someone else, they have to. Fee is also a really bad friend to Cora. She puts her in danger and asks her to do things that Cora doesn’t want to do. But it makes Fee’s mission easier, so Cora has to do it. It was nice to see Cora pushing back on some of the requests, but it wasn’t enough. I’m too invested to stop now.

Runaway by Susan Copperfield / R.J. Blain

2.5/3 ish

With the heir of California abdicating to marry his lady love and move to New York to be King there Cassandra is living a nightmare. She is one of Prince Thomas' only remaining employees and she has too much work to even think. She has a memorial service and a coronation service to plan. Once these two things are done will her life settle down into her new normal or will her life get even more interesting?

I wanted to like this book more. It pulled me in and I didn't want to stop reading but about halfway through the book, it just fizzled for me.

HUGE SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!! IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE MAIN PLOT OF THE BOOK IS DON'T CONTINUE READING.

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

Once again we have Cassandra's parents being the bad guys. In almost everyone of Copperfield's books they start with the parents seeming to be good parents and then wham bad guy. Cassandra was kidnapped as an infant and was raised to be a spy and eventually help overthrow the royal family. It seems like in most of Copperfield's books she really hates parents. What surprised me about this is Cassandra is never made to confront her parents. Not to mention when the royal family confronts those responsible for all of the mayhem we are literally watching it on TV not actually experiencing it. Then the book ends and there is no closure at all. It just kind of a let down. I also realized once I was done with the story it was a lot of making plans and not actually following through with them and lots of shopping. Overall, it was okay and there was a good idea within the story it just was missing too much.

Reaper Unveiled by Debbie Cassidy

3 Star

Lilith invites Fee and her men to the underealm and they can’t say no. They must go to attend a wedding that will form an alliance. Will they all make it out alive?

In this installment we finally see movement on the overarching plot of Lilith so yay! Boo on yet another cliffhanger. Why do authors think this is a good model to have for their books? In this book we get some movement on the plot and not just Fee getting more men added to her harem. If not for being so far into the series and almost done I would have given up on the series with this book.

Cursed by Laurann Dohner and Kele Moon

4 Star

Alpha wolf Jazz thought he lost his mate when they were teenagers. He knew his father had taken her, raped her, and thought he had killed her with the help of his enforcers. After he and Desmon took out his father and enforcers as teenagers they spend their days managing the pack. He plans to never mate anyone as no one will ever compare to his mate. When a female hunter shows up and takes out one of their wolves, he will track her down to see why she killed one of their wolves. What he wasn’t expecting was a ghost from his past. She no longer goes by Marcy but Shawna. She barely survived Albert’s assault and to stay safe and heal she ran. Now she takes out wolves that abuse those they should protect. Jazz has his mate, and he won’t let her go no matter what. When trouble comes for the pack will they be able to figure out a way out?

I loved these two. I figured out that Shawna wasn’t dead in the last book as no body equals, she’s coming back. I can see why she wouldn’t want to come back and be known before now. I loved seeing them work through their issues and come together to protect the pack. Overall, it was a good story with a good flow. It matched with the previous two books and I want the next one now and not whenever they get around to releasing it.

Reaper Untamed by Debbie Cassidy

3.5 Star

With the death of her former friend Lucas Fee is in danger. They can’t prove his death was not her fault and done under duress. The only sanctuary she has is with the pack but that comes with other perils. She won’t be able to ignore all her responsibilities anymore.

Fee being wishy washy in this book frustrated me. She never thinks through her actions to see what will happen if she does something. She accidentally mates a man she hates and doesn’t remember doing it. She is now stuck with him forever and doesn’t handle it well. She’s pissed and storms away from her protection and shock of all shocks ends up in even more danger. Overall, this has been my least favorite book of the series.
