BLURB:
“Talk or suffer the consequences.”
Ruthless warrior Grif McIntyre is known for his brutal interrogation techniques, a skill he learned much too young from a monster even more savage than him. Still, Grif’s skills with ropes, restraints, and unbearable pleasure are unrivaled. His methods merciless, but effective. Tasked with capturing and breaking a critical target in order to rescue a handful of missing females, he assumes the mission will be no different from the others that have come before.
But the female he captures is not what he expects.
Captured and chained by a beast more terrifying than any she has seen before, Nayla is certain her already difficult life has just gotten worse. The brute’s mannerisms and grunts are strange, his demands terrifying and against the traditions of her pack. Even worse is the way he handles her. As if he has the right. As if she is not tainted and unworthy. As if he believes what he is doing is punishment. In truth, the searing heat he brings to life with his rough touches, and the growing lust in his gaze, is all she has ever craved.
She would be content to suffer his torment forever, but he wants information she cannot afford to give.
Soon, it is only a question of who will break first.
TAMED, Book 4 in The Condemned Series, is an action-packed, smoking hot standalone SciFi romance about two people from different worlds who are more alike in their desires than they could ever imagine. While the hero and heroine deal with unequal power dynamics and rope play, pleasure is always the name of the game. This is a HOT read and a wild ride for those who like an edgier adventure.

Honey badger Livy Kowalski doesn’t have patience for idiots. As a photographer she always has a camera in
front of her until her father’s funeral. Since the funeral she’s lost her muse
and then she has to deal with her family.
When Vic asks her to break into an apartment again, she agrees and discovers
a secret that will bring the shifter world to their knees.
I loved this story so much.
There was one scene where Livy is jousting shifter cats to work off her aggression
and Vic was livid, but he dealt with it.
It was one of the funniest scenes I’ve read or listened too in a
while. I loved seeing how the honey
badgers found out where their man was and got to him. It was hilarious how much the other shifters
feared the collection of honey badgers.
One of the best books I’ve read by Shelly Laurenston.
Audio Book
Charlotte Kane is the best narrator ever.

Toni Jean-Louis Parker is the eldest sister to a family full
of prodigal jackals. She has spent her
life making sure they are cared for and get what they need. When she takes a job working for a family friend
negotiating a contract for the hockey team to play against Russian bears. Ricky Lee Reed thinks hanging around Toni the
fun will come to him and it does. They
are both up for a no strings affair until things take a turn to the more serious. Toni’s family is threatened, and Ricky’s
employer is hired to keep the kids safe.
However, when one is kidnapped by someone close, they will tear the
world apart looking for him.
This book had a good idea and for the most part a good story,
but it does seem a little slow in the middle.
There were times I wanted it to hurry up and get to the point
already. I liked Ricky a lot, but Toni
frustrated me some of the times with her whining. Ricky helps level that out and by the end she
is better. I liked seeing the old
characters come into play and the introduction of new characters. It was still worth reading just a bit slow to
get to the point.
Audio Book
Charlotte Kane did an amazing job on the story. She gets 5 stars from me for her job giving
each character a voice.
Book 8 Pride
Hadley needed a wing-man to go home with her to her sister’s
wedding. She needed a buffer from the
cut-throat games her family will force her to play. Her wing-man was supposed to be her BFF Web. However, the man off the plane is his evil
twin Will. Will has never liked Hadley
and is determined to prove Hadley is money hungry woman only out interested in
Web because of the zeros in his bank account.
Instead he finds a woman who doesn’t match with his views. Will needs to figure out which is the real Hadley
before it’s too late.
I really liked this story.
It has some of the same characters that are in some other series Avery
Flynn has written. The pacing in the story
is spot on. There aren’t any lags and it
runs pretty smooth from beginning to the end.
I enjoyed Will getting his comeuppance at the end. I also loved that you get an epilogue at the
end so you see where the characters are going to be in the future. Here’s hoping there will be more books with
some of these characters.

Janette signed a life contract with Bradley to be his bodyguard/driver. After a debilitating car accident, she goes
on the run in violation of her life contract.
She starts over as a librarian.
When her new life comes crashing down around her with the assassination
of a senator outside the library her old life comes back with a bang. Bradley is investigating the assassination of
elected officials when he finds his long lost bodyguard. They will need to work together to find out
who the killer is.
This book was literally an introduction to the characters
and the mystery and absolutely nothing else.
Going to break this down by issues.
Mystery: There was no suspects. The killer was introduced before the book
started. Janette came in after the
murder had already happened. The killer
doesn’t make another appearance until the very end of the book. Literally there is just talk about the
assassinations but no progress in the mystery at all by the end.
Romance: There isn’t any.
The book alludes to Janette being in love with Bradley but not able to be
with him because of her job until they reconnect several years later. Then all of a sudden, they are engaged to
protect Janette if a bill is passed that would put her in the military. You don’t have to have sex scenes to write a
good story, but I would like to have some kind of wooing.
World Building: Nonexistent.
There doesn’t have to be a massive dump but some idea of how things will
work in this world would be nice. What
makes people be Adept. Is it genetic or
an anomaly? How does testing and Life
Contracts work? Are there protections in
place for people after testing? Nothing
is really explained.
The next book isn’t even scheduled to come out yet. The next one is said to be coming out end of
2021 or beginning of 2022. There is also
supposed to be five in the series so if I have to wait for it to conclude it
will be a while to see where the series is actually going. Why would I invest more time and energy in
this series? It is getting to the point
that I am not reviewing R.J. Blains books positively. Not every book is for everyone, but I should
have more books be positive than negative and not feel like I’m struggling through
the book. This book took days to finish
because I was so bored with the story that I kept putting it down to do
something else. This does not make for a
good book. Read at your own risk.
