Eternally Complicated by Julia Kent

4 Star

After many miscarriages Josie is tentatively happy she's pregnant again.  She wants this one to stick and be able to finally have a kid with her husband.  While Josie is happy to be pregnant her friend Laura isn't so sure about being pregnant.  Laura, Mike, and Dylan are finally in a good place with their three kids.  Will everything work out for Josie and Laura?

This is the last book of the series and it wraps everything up nicely.  I started with the series when it first came out years ago and it was a joy to read how everyone's lives turn out.  I know with previous books I was really hoping for Josie to finally have a baby and was happy to see how this finally came out.  The only part that was jarring for me was Darla in this book.  I don't remember her being as obnoxious as she was.  Still if you've read all the books you will love this one.  It is one you do need to have read some of the previous books to understand everything.

In Your Dreams by Julia Kent

4 Star

After a bad breakup Laura is in need and her dreams aren't helping. Mike and Dylan are reeling from the death of their partner when they find out she had a lot of money and she left it all to them. They are left wondering why she never told them she had big money. Their lives are all crazy and chaotic but they all want to find their perfect partners.

This was a prequel for Laura, Mike and Dylan story. It takes place right before they meet in Her Billionaires. If you haven't read that series this book makes sense but you won't necessarily get a complete story. It is very much a book that is for those who love the series and want to see where they started and how they made the choices they made to come together. As this was how I found Julie Kent's books and I loved the series and all the others that have come out since I was excited to see this.  Writing was just as good. There was a lot of emotions with this book. There isn't a HEA or even a HFN it is a glimpse into where the three started that lead to there HEA.

It’s Always Complicated by Julia Kent

It's Always Complicated (Her Billionaires Book 4) by [Julia Kent]

Laura, Dylan, Mike, Josie, and Alex are exchanging vows.  Take Laura and her guys wrangling their 3 kids and trying to find time for themselves.  Josie is trying to wrangle her mother out of an indecent exposer charge while planning their joint wedding.  Will they all make it down the aisle?

I loved this book.  It made me laugh and cry.  It brings together characters from three different series, Random, Her Billionaires, and Obedient.  It was nice to see where some of the characters had gone since the last book.  Where the last book seemed like different snapshots this was a cohesive book throughout.  My only frustration was with Laura and her emotions.  They felt a bit over the top at times.

Completely Complicated by Julia Kent

Completely Complicated (Her Billionaires #3) by [Julia Kent]

Laura, Mike, Dylan, Josie, and Alex continue their adventure in this box set.  Each couple will need to learn to communicate to keep their relationship strong.

The book felt more like mini clips into the lives of these characters.  Not bad but I would have preferred for it to be a continuous story.  Some of the section were better than other ones.  There is one with Laura and her guys that frustrated me so much but the end of it as the best scene in the whole book where the guys are proposing to Laura and Josie thinks it is Alex.  She gets upset it wasn’t hers and he thinks she’s pregnant.  It was so funny and it made me laugh my ass off.  You do need read each of these as a continuous series otherwise they don’t make sense.  There is one more in the series and I am invested enough to finish it out and see where all of the couples end up.

It's Complicated by Julia Kent

It's Complicated (Her Billionaires #2) by [Julia Kent]

Josie Mendham is meant to be helping Laura through labor and delivery instead she’s stealing away with the OB on Laura’s case.  Dr Alex Derjian is enthralled by this foursome in the labor delivery ward.  Two fathers defy science but really interests him is the nurse he’s been watching for months.  Getting into her pants isn’t hard but getting into her heart is another matter.

I liked this book.  The pacing was a little slow.  The book starts off a bit slow and about the halfway mark is when it picks up.  I really enjoyed it from that point.  I liked how Josie stood up for herself when Alex was a dick to her.  He actually apologized after being a jerk.  It did take him running into a sign to get him to apologize but he did.  Overall a good book with humor and some series parts.

Her Billionaires by Julia Kent

Her Billionaires (Her Billionaires #1) by [Julia Kent]

3.5 Stars

Laura Michaels has decided to put herself out there after being cheated on.  She matches with a lot of guys looking to hook up until Dylan messages her.  He seems to be a hot firefighter looking for love.  They meet and hook up.  When she wakes up and sees his room covered in pictures of another woman, she jumps to the conclusion he’s taken and blocks him on everything.  She gets a message from another man, Mike, wanting to meet up.  After a couple of dates, they’re getting hot and heavy when Dylan shows up.  Mike and Dylan want a ménage like they had before.  She’s game but then questions everything.  She can forgive as long as that is all the secrets they have.  Yep totally the only secret until one more comes out that they are Billionaires.  She boots them until life happens.  Can they get past all the lies and make a lasting relationship?

I read this book years ago when it first came out and this was how I was introduced to Julia Kent.  They were originally serials that have been combined into one cohesive story.  I liked them then and I like them now.  There is a lot of communication issues throughout the story that becomes frustrating by that last section of the book.  I really liked Laura’s best friend, Josie.  Josie was all about telling it like it is even when her advice isn’t exactly what Laura wanted to hear.  I look forward to reading the next story with Josie.
