Reject Me by Kel Carpenter and Aurelia Jane

3 Star

When Dannie rejects the alpha’s son she’s cast out of her pack. She refuses to be mated to the man who has bullied her throughout her life. She turns to the Dark Vampire King of Blood and Beryl and agrees to marry him. She will become his fake mate. The more time they spend together is it really a fake mating? When trouble comes their way will they be able to weather the storm?

This was a pretty good read. There were a couple issues of communication between the main characters that led to ALL the problems. It got old very quickly. I did like them and they eventually figure out what they need to do but it took way too long. I liked how things worked out and it is a complete story that was well written with an interesting world. This book is in a shared world with other authors. It stands by itself but I am interested in the world enough to check out the other books.

Dark Horse by Kel Carpenter and Aurelia Jane

3.5/4 Star

Her husband killed her and now Fury is stuck torturing souls in the afterlife. She could get mad about it but instead she decided to take hold of it and make the best. Eventually she will be able to buy her way into the afterlife. When an opportunity comes up that will give her the funds to finally retire, she takes it but she’s not happy about it. She’s asked to take on 3 souls on earth that others have tried to punish, and no one has been successful. The powers that be think she can. Will she?

This was an interesting new take on supernatural books. I enjoyed most of it up until the very end and then it got weird. It also ended on a cliffhanger. I loved Fury, Roman, Ezra, and Dorian but I think Ezra is the best of them. We will see if book 2 is just as good.

Reaping Havoc and Reaper Reborn By Kel Carpenter

Reaping Havoc (The Grimm Brotherhood Book 2) by [Kel Carpenter, Meg Anne]

Reaper Reborn (The Grimm Brotherhood Book 3) by [Kel Carpenter, Meg Anne]

4 Stars for the whole series but individually I would put them each at 2 Stars

I am doing the rest of the series differently.  Let me start with I loved this series.  It was well written and the pacing in the story is really good.  My issue with these books is they are very much a serial and you pay 3.99 for each installment but the story literally continues through each book.  Each book doesn’t really end.  When I finished Reaping Havoc I needed to read Reaper Reborn to finish the story.  It is frustrating to pay for a book that doesn’t end and I have to pay another 4 bucks to get the next installment.  Plus the books are about 250 pages each and that ends up costing a lot of money for the complete story.  I did enjoy the story and if it wasn’t for the above I wouldn’t this pissed about the rating.

Reaping Havoc book 2

Salem has discovered who murdered her brother now she just has to stop him from killing other people.

Reaper Reborn book 3

Salem has brought her brother’s murderer to justice and is hoping things are going to settle down now and she can discover what all her powers are.  As well as, discover who is after her but life doesn’t always go the way you plan.

Reaper’s Blood by Kel Carpenter

Reaper's Blood (The Grimm Brotherhood Book 1)
2.5 Stars

Salem died for a hostess cupcake but an entity didn’t let her stay dead.  She comes back and finds out her family are all supernatural and her brother was murdered by one of them.  Salem needs to find out who is the murder before they try and kill her too.

This rating makes my heart hurt.  I blew through this book so fast.  I couldn’t put it down it was that good.  The problem and the reason for the borderline negative review of the book is it literally ends on a cliff hanger and you have to read the next book for the next part of the story and from the reviews that book also ends in a cliffhanger to the conclusion of the series.  The 3rd book isn’t out yet so I’m refusing to even look at book 2 until book 3 is out so I can go through all of them and hopefully get the full story.  It was an awesome book that was go from moment one.  The story itself was a different take on a grim reaper and all of sorts of other supernatural characters.  Would recommend this series once all of the books are out. I mean come on she died for a hostess cupcake.
