Omega Sanctuary by Mira Kane

3 stars

Zara has been tested and told she’s not an omega, so her plan is to take over the bakery. When she is tested one more time it is found that they screwed up and she is an omega. Now she must be sent off to the academy to be trained on being a proper omega. She must select her alphas who are there to protect her but that’s not how she was raised, and she’s not interested in selecting just anyone for herself. On the journey to the academy things go sideways and she discovers there is something going on that is risking omegas. Will she and her chosen mates discover what is going on before it is too late?

This is bordering on a 2 for issue in the book. There are grammatical and spelling errors throughout. There was also a lock of world development which led to confusion on how and why things are the way they are. There was also a pacing issue. We had a lot of hurry up and wait. I liked the story as it was different. Zara was a strong main who went after what she wanted. The next one doesn’t come out for a while which sucks since it ended in a cliff hanger.

Destiny of the Dragons by Mira Kane

2 stars

Mia Caravaggio is used to being used as a pawn by her family. They’ve been using her for years and who she marries is not going to be any different. She works in her family’s antique shop and her magic is used by her family as they wish. They’ve not been as powerful since they gave up their spell book several generations ago to prevent more bloodshed. She deals with it until she meets Jace Andoni and Smoke, dragons without a clan. Jace is trying to prove himself to his clan but when he meets Mia, he wants her and wants to share her with his other love Smoke. The problem, he doesn’t actually ask them what they want and that causes a rift. Will they find away back to each other?

I wanted to like this more, but they all frustrated me. There was no world building or build up to a relationship. They meet and are all in until Jace fucks up. They are then separated for eleven months and then finally make up, all is resolved, and the book ends. It was just kind of a letdown.
