Saving the Omega; Claiming the Omega; Finding the Omega by Mina Carter

3 Star

Doing all 3 of these books as one review as you literally cannot read 1 without reading all 3. Together they make a full length book individually they do not. It was like the author took a book and found two spots in the book that made sense to cut and started the next book there which is frustrating for me with how expensive the books were without being complete. The author does say it is a serialized story.

Representine ruined Neve’s life. She went from being married to a beta and being a beta for years to being divorced and left with nothing. Forced to get a job after being a stay-at-home mom for years, she ends up at Alpha Security working for Alphas Mason and Dante who were childhood friends of her son. They are too young and hot for their own good and Neve craves them when she shouldn’t. What she doesn’t know is Mason and Dante have wanted her for years and feel now is the time to get what they want. They don’t care that she’s a beta they just want her. When her ex starts sniffing around her again, they will do whatever they can to keep her safe. What they don’t plan on is her being snatched off the street. Will they get her back in time?

Overall, I enjoyed this dark omega book. I like Neve, Mason, and Dante. Neve comes into her own by the end of the book, but she does start out quite wimpy and lets herself be walked over. I loved that Mason and Dante didn’t care about her age or that she was a beta. They just wanted her for her. Which is why HUGE SPOILER FOR THE BOOKS DO NOT READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW

You’ve been warned

She flips to omega and the author explains how that is possible but it irritated me. I like the books where the odd designation ends up getting the love of their life and this was working out that way until Neve became an omega. I still enjoyed the story and will eventually pick up book four and read it.

Confetti, Garters, and the Demon Bride by Mina Carter

Confetti, Garters And The Demon Bridezilla (The Dramatic Life of a Demon Princess Book 3) by [Mina Carter, Love Spells]

2.5 Stars

Jynx’s big day is just around the corner and if it can go wrong it is.  She’s trying to navigate her heavenly and Hell family members to not cause problems when her dress goes missing, she ends up in a car accident, and her hubby to be’s sorta ex is trying to get him back.

I wanted to like this book like all the other books but this one had pacing issues as well as plot issues.  I don’t know if it was because the book was only 96 pages or what but the ending was rushed.  The book was going on nicely and it seemed like they got to a point and said oh no I have to end this so let’s wrap this up.  I also had issues with the fact that the whole plot of this book was that Lucas’ ex was causing all of these problems due to him abandoning her but in reality they had met once and it was a signed contract.  Why would a contact trump a fated mate.  It just didn’t work for me.

Murder Death and Frozen Peas by Mina Carter

Murder, Death and Frozen Peas (The Dramatic Life of a Demon Princess Book 2) by [Mina Carter, Love Spells]

3.5 Stars

The town of Boring is anything but boring since Jinx moved in.  She’s the niece to Satan living with her werewolf mate when everything goes to hell.  Her dad turns up pregnant and her mom arrives bringing a legion of mer-people hot on her heels.  Jinx needs to deal with all of this while planning her boyfriend’s birthday.

These books are short quick reads.  There is a lot of humor and I enjoy them a lot.  Pacing was a little bit of an issue.  This book rushed the ending.  It still was worth reading and I will be picking up the next book in the series.

Cyborg’s Price by Mina Carter – 2*

Junior nurse Samara spends her days dealing with minor cuts and bruises. When a dangerous prisoner is transferred on board she is assigned to checking him out. Cyborg Lyon is en route to be dissected and studied. He ends up onboard the Combined Fleet Ship, Valkyrie where he meets Samara. Samara doesn’t properly secure him and he is able to escape, taking her with him.

The writing was spot on and there were some very funny and hot parts to the book but that was about all I really liked about it.

It was insta attraction. Within minutes of being taken hostage by the cyborgs Samara is having sex with Lyon. Ok she isn’t at all traumatized by her being taken. He is also quick to jump to conclusions. She ends up having a tracker in her. I.E. the humans set him up to take a female nurse with him. She had no idea this was the case and he went off the deep end with her, like she personally betrayed him. No questions asked at all. She had to of known to betray him. When all of the cyborgs on the ship are taken out of commission she ends up saving their collective asses. Lyon realizes his mistake and all is forgiven. Would not recommend this book at all.

This book was also published under a different name and cover and it really clear this was the case. The original title was Lyon’s Price.

Hedging Her Bets – Celia Kyle and Mina Carter – 3*

Hedging Her Bets – Celia Kyle and Mina Carter – 3*

I've read all of Celia Kyle's books and some of them are awesome and some are just ok. This was just ok.

What I liked:

I liked the humor in the book. That's about it.

What I didn't like:

There was no character development. The couple fought through the whole book and it just got to be very old very fast considering the book was only 70 pages. It was also 2.99 for 70 pages. If it weren't for the fact that I LOVE other books by these authors there is no way I would pay this much for a story like this.

Overall, if you are looking for a funny shifter book check out some of their other series.

I loved that the woman in the relationship screwed up and had to go after him.

What I didn't like:

It seemed to jump from scene to scene. There were a couple of times where I went back and reread parts to make sure I didn't miss something only to find out I hadn't missed anything. There also wasn't a lot of character development. I know the book is only 113 pages and is part of a larger series but it just seemed like there could have been some more development.

Overall, if you are looking for a funny shifter book check out some of their other series.
