Anubis by Alessa Thorn

4 Star

Anubis has been lost forever. He’s finally been found but still can’t go home as he is still missing apart of himself. He asks Tahirah for help locating his missing piece. She thinks she’s just helping another rich man who knows nothing and is surprised when he’s not. Will they discover Anubis’ missing part?

I loved seeing Anubis and Tahirah’s relationship develop. I very much want Anubis and Tahirah to take her nephew away as her sister never redeems herself. This wasn’t my favorite in the series, but it was good. It fit within the rest of the series. I’m hoping there are more books in the series.

Thoth by Alessa Thorn

4 Star

Thoth has agreed to help his friend Set on a mission but first he needs to track down a girl who stole from him 13 years ago.  She has his book, and he needs it back.  When he finds Kema he discovers she’s been reading from the book and release monsters into the world.  Since she’s responsible she can clean up the mess AND help track down information for Set.

I loved this book.  It helped progress the story started with Set’s book.  I also loved the cranky Thoth and Kema who just loved needling him.  I also like the crossover with Hermes and finding out what Kema’s history was.  When I finished the book the only question I had was why is the next book not out?

Set by Alessa Thorn

3 Star

Set is hiding in plain sight.  He isn’t interested in being known as a God like all the Greeks.  When his employer asks him to rescue his daughter from a rival gang he agrees to go and get her.  Ayla doesn’t know who her dad is or why these men are coming after her but if Set wants to keep her safe, she will trust him.  When she finds out he is really Set and not just someone named after him will she be able to handle it?  Will Set be able to keep her safe from those who want to use her?

I enjoyed this book.  I liked that Ayla couldn’t care less about who Set was and gave him so much shit.  She made him work for it.  It was also interesting to read about the Egyptian gods.  Really good edition to the Court of the Underworld/start of a new series.
