Julia was widowed 8 months ago.  Her friends are desperate to get her out and about to start the process of moving on.  They finally get her to go out with them and she meets a guy that makes her think about her future.  She isn’t sure if she just wants a one-night stand, something casual, or something permeant.  What she doesn’t know is Mason had a history with her husband.  The secrets he keeps could ruin whatever relationship they have.

This is not a book I would normally pick up.  It is a straight romance with not a lot else going on.  The writing was spot on.  The pacing in the story was good.  It was emotional and felt like it hits true for someone getting over a loss.   My issue with the book wasn’t necessarily with the plot but the ending.  It doesn’t actually end.  There are a ton of loose ends not addressed and I will need to buy the next book to find out all of the secrets.  This would be fine if I felt this book wrapped up some of the loose ends but literally nothing is concluded.  You don’t even know if Mason and Julia will remain together.  If you don’t mind a very big cliffhanger ending you will love this story.
