Beautiful Nightmare by Katee Roberts

4 Stars

For one awkward sleep paralysis demon, scaring humans should be simple—except Gemma’s first solo haunting goes hilariously wrong in this tantalizing dream of a short story by New York Times bestselling author Katee Robert.

When Gemma’s supposed to terrify her appointed victim, she ends up captivated instead. Caleb, a romantic who believes in all things supernatural, finds her adorably pink-skinned, horned form more alluring than alarming. But as their steamy night unfolds and unexpected feelings bloom, Gemma must choose between her demonic duties and the human who makes her feel anything but monstrous.

I loved this monster romance so much. It was short and spicy. Loved it was like Monsters Inc with finding other ways to boost energy and the twist at the end was awesome. Would love more books in this world.

Kraken Sacrifice by Katee Roberts

2 Stars

Catalina has nowhere else to go so she might as well agree to marry a strange creature. She is won by the Kraken and must stay with him for seven years. Thane is cold and distant with her and she just wants someone to be with. Will they find their way to happily ever after?

The story was there but it felt rushed. The story was plotting along nicely but then it got to a certain point, and it just rushes to conclude the story. This led to the story feeling rushed and incomplete. It felt like the author had a page count and once she got to that point, she had to wrap it up even though the story wasn’t complete. Was liking it up to this point but no thank you.

Dragon’s Bride by Katee Robert

2 Star

Briar Rose is trying to escape her abusive husband. She thought she had made a clean break but he found her. When a demon shows up and saves her for a deal she will agree to almost anything. All she has to do is marry a dragon from another planet and stay with him for 7 years. Will she survive this new planet and husband?

I wanted to like this book more than I did. I found myself putting it down more than I was reading it. The story had no build up. It went 0-100 within minutes. Briar was abused by her husband for years and she basically jumps into a new marriage immediately. There's no real story here I would skip it.
